Also there are some surprising statistics on past Masters policies, such as golfers had to have black caddies until recent years

The golfers had to use Augusta caddies and could not use there own. Yes they were and are all black and if anyone of them posted here they would be OT ballers money wise. The black caddies did not want that rule changed and lobbied for years to prevent it before the players prevailed in using their own caddies many of which are black.

Condeleeza Rice, a black woman plays Augusta.

You are all over the place. Augusta is not the PGA. The PGA has all of the programs in place you are chastising them for not having. Your ignorance of them doesn't meant they don't exist.

Is there an argument the PGA has failed their obligation to increase minority participation in tournaments after Tiger Woods?

I don't think we need Affirmative Action for golf. Golf is expensive to play & a lot of minorities can't afford it. Life isn't fair sometimes.

There's is also the issue whether or not minority groups (like BLM) have standing to sue to compel the PGA to act, or even seek damages for their failure to do so.

They can put that on the docket right in front of the KKK's lawsuit against the NBA for doing a terrible job of incorporating white people into team rosters. There are a few scattered here and there, but it is nowhere near matching population demographics similar to mandates in other industries.

There are quite a few of those guys in this thread. Suing for lack of outreach is too much, but it seems wise that the PGA look at their pipeline/development system.

All the innuendo in this thread about golf being to much work or too mentally challenging for blacks is pretty inappropriate.

Besides, it's not all white. Vijay is still in the field, as well as 10 or so Asians and several Hispanics. Dumb hashtag unless it's referring to the caddie's outfits.

No obligation to make golf more affordable or locate courses in ghettos, nyc, chicago, sf/Oakland.

Hoops is king of nyc and Chicago for a couple of good reasons.

the Only "obligation" that The PGA has is to produce an interessting tournament each week, aside from demographic inconsistencies. They are about growing the game, if that is in suburban America, so be it.

Is there a discrepancy, sure...do i give two shits about what some C average southern law student believes over a good golf tournament, NOPE!

Well where is the Obligation for the NBA to fill in the quota for the minorities in their league?

Over 70% of population is Caucasian. Guess the NBA should have quotas for Caucasian players? I don't think so.

OP why didn't you start a similar thread about the NHL or NASCAR?

This is wrong. There were most definitely white caddies.

The grouchy "get off my lawn" old white men at most courses probably don't help.

I played golf in high school and those frickers were always complaining about something

All of the caddies for member play were black.

The tour players use their regular tour caddies which are mostly white for the tournament.
