When exactly did you give up on life?

If I was forced to give up my Odyssey, I'd consider the new Kias.
IMO, if you have more than two kids, a van is infinitely better than an SUV.
Sliding doors are so much easier in parking lots, press a button and all kids load up on their own with no risk of banging doors on adjacent vehicles. Car seats in an SUV in a parking lot are a much bigger pain.
They drive like cars, hell I can whip a u turn in my Odyssey that a Tahoe could never do.
My household: family car = Odyssey, personal car = pilot. 4 kids.

A good minivan will easily beat most SUVs on price (as-in, the van is more expensive). Also, have you ever tried watching a 6 year-old open the doors on an Expedition in a parking lot? Your car will inevitably look like it just went through a demolition derby after 5 years. And then there's gas mileage, comfort, 3rd row accessibility and safety ratings (surprisingly, minivans are very hard to beat on passenger safety, even for big SUVs).

We have an 07 Odyssey with 191,000 on it. It is very comfortable and have had very few issues with it.
My parents have an 06 EX-L with about 180k.
They have replaced the valve cover gaskets, and currently the rear main seal has a small leak (not worth fixing). It burns a little oil, and now the AC compressor is start to go out.
But that's about it for major repairs.

Thanks for the actual answer.

So subjective reasons like aesthetics are more important than objective reasons like it being easier to load kids and a shorter turning radius?

"None" is the best choice for a minivan.

I hope this is for your wife!!!

Get you a Pilot.
Pretty much a minivan anyway

No, Mr. Sensitive Pants. I was asking what the practical reasons were. Someone just informed me. Not sure why you're working yourself into a tizzy about your minivan, pal.

I love my Pilot, but zero rear storage with the third row up.

I don't know much about practicality but I like the Ford Flex Ecoboost. 365HP Twin Turbo V-6 and AWD. Probably a tune away from 400HP!

This is the OT. Tizzy is the natural state, dammit.

Buy the extended warranty because it's going to be problematic.

Chrysler doesn't now, nor has it ever, made the best of anything.

How many pounds of french fries and candy would you say are under the seats?
