re: Is the Chrysler Pacifica the best minivan choice currently?

I will echo a lot of the Kia supporters on here. It's hard to imagine paying new minivan price for the Sedona, but given that Hyundai is the parent company and I do have experience with their new stuff, it's GOT to be worth consideration. What I have found odd is the apparent lack of an entertainment system with many of the ones I've seen in even the highest trim levels. We had a base model one for a couple days as a rental and my wife joked about how superior its ride was to our '13 T&C.
The Pacifica looks good. I think you're just going to have to wait for the long-term data to determine if it's lipstick on a pig or an actual step in the proper direction.

So they made a minivan out of a crossover model?
No. They just took the name from a discontinued crossover instead of continuing to use the Town and Country name.

That said I agree the Odyssey and Sienna are probably better options right now if reliability is a major factor bc the pacifica is so new.
This is a weird thing to say. Shouldn't this the #1 factor when buying a family car outside of some flashy sports car or other super niche vehicle?

Again, if your carrying a kid and another one is walking beside you and it's raining, who wants to dig through their purse to get out keys? That's why almost all cars are keyless now. Again, another simple feature that the Odyssey is missing.
I guess, if its raining I just put my keys in my hand..

I don't care what anybody says... mini vans are comfortable.
So are sweat pants but I don't wear them out to a bar or to work...

My wife owned the older version(not Mini Van) Pacifica. Extremely comfortable car on the road. However, at around 75,000 miles, started burning oil from leaky gaskets, ruined the O2 sensors, Engine light came on, game over. Only got around $4000 on the trade in. Never again.......

Keyless entry is one of those things that most will think is silly and they don't really want right up until they have it on their car and will from then on never want a vehicle w/o it.
Sort of like things such as cup holders, seat warmers, steering wheel warmers, lane detection, usb ports, back up cameras, rear seats that fold down, automatic side mirrors, automatic rear tailgates, power windows etc.
shite, I'm sure at one point there were people who thought power steering was a waste of money.

I don't want any of that outside of cup holders and power windows...lane detection is stupid and made cars way damn worse than they were. Electronic steering sucks.

You would think, but reliability seems to not concern most buyers.
