You don't think this is Herman 2.0?
With that said, I wonder if he even wants the clemson job. other than the fact he's an alum there's nothing that appealing about the job

Nah not really.
If there's a job Wade truly has his eye on all he has to do is sit tight and keep winning at VCU like Marshall, Miller, Stevens, Smart, etc.

Odd that LSU basketball would be anyone's dream job (besides maybe an alum).
ETA- He has no ties to LSU. He didn't play high school or college ball, but got his start as a GA type at Clemson. He was then asst at Harvard, asst at VCU, HC at Chattanooga, and now HC at VCU.

The same could have been said about Texas (football), right?
The prevailing thought was that Texas booster (or Herman's agent) leaked the Herman to LSU info in an attempt to force Texas to fire Strong and get in mix. It's reasonable to believe that same thing is happening here.

The bottom line is that both would be firing their coach when they "had" to.
Texas had to fire Strong the day after the season ended because LSU was ready to take Herman. Clemson had no rush (if Wade is their guy) until LSU emerged as a contender. Maybe Clemson doesn't want to fire their coach, but now he has to because some influential people are demanding Wade.

Yes. This would be a great hire...Clemson is meeting with Brownell tomorrow to discuss his future, we need to make a move fast before this turns into a bidding war with them...we all know how that works out for Alleva.
