That would like Saban going from Bama to coach Indiana football
what a terrible analogy, IU aint bama and Crean is barely a top 25 coach.

I think I'd rather have Scott Drew?

What's with you people thinking it's so easy to win at IU these days? Crean won the B1G by two games just last season, but "couldn't get it done"?
All these magical advantages and resources, yet 30 years since a national championship and 15 since they played for one. 2012 was their second Sweet Sixteen appearance since 1994. LSU even had been to two within that time frame.

Collis Temple has NO influence on the AAU circuit. He rode the coattails of Big Baby, Tyrus, Tasmin. Since those guys left, Temple is an afterthought. Collis Temple took advantage of the surplus of talent that was in the area. That's it.

IU is 10x easier to win at than LSU

If they are not on the phone with him by now the AD is fricking stupid.( or more stupid then we already thought).

Drew, Brey, and Crean huh....... Maybe I'm off base here but I think you guys are setting your sights pretty high..... I'd love to have those, but why the hell would they wanna come to LSU, unless LSU dishes a boatload of cash, which Alleva isnt gonna do

Define "get it done".
He made the Sweet 16 3 out of 6 years not on probation, and the tournament 4 out of 6 years.
That's what I want from an LSU coach.
But he did that at a much bigger and better program with far more advantages.

That streak ended a quarter of a century ago and was still less than 30 years.

Link to this quantifiable data since Knight, Davis, Sampson and Crean all just underachieved for 30 years at such an easy place to win.

If you're, let's say, West Virginia in football, would you hire a guy that Alabama fired that barely made the Outback Bowl every other year with a couple Independence Bowls sprinkled in? With all the resources and advantages that Alabama has?
We have an AD who hired a coach that was fired from Ole Miss

Championship game appearances
LSU- 0
IU- 1
Final fours
LSU-1
IU- 2
Elite 8
LSU-1
IU- 3
Sweet 16
LSU-2
IU-8
Tournament Appearances
LSU-10
IU-21
So double the final fours, 3x the elite 8s, 4x the final fours, and 2x as many tournamanet appearances

If you take out his first 3 years (38-66) it seems IU made the tourney 2 straight years then don't make it. Then 2 straight years again then don't make it.

But we already know Indiana > LSU at basketball.
Your argument against Crean was that he underachieved at IU with all those resources. My point is, it's not as easy to win there as everyone is claiming and those numbers since 1990 prove that.

Its far easier. Maybe not like Duke/UK/UNC, but its far easier.
And his results post-probation have been what we want an LSU coach to achieve at LSU.
And its not like he was trending upwards all those years. It was a plateau.

Collis Temple has ZERO involvement in AAU or any prep basketball and hasn't for about 10 years.
