Wouldn't be a bad hire necessarily but still not my top choice

Then we need to start leveraging Nike more and cut Temple out of the equation altogether.

Speaking of that, was IU Nike or Adidas, and what Nike coaches are out there and available?

That's normal in regards of AAU.
You want to see some wheeling and dealing go to any 15u super showcase.

I think he would be a disaster here.

Here is what he did at Indiana(I took out his first three seasons, because they were on probation)

Sweet 16
Sweet 16
Missed tourney
1st round exit
Sweet 16
Missed tourney

So, he had the type of success that we are looking for at LSU, however he did that while at IU......

I wouldnt hate the hire, but I am not sure it would work here.

Agree with this post.

Switch sports:

If you're, let's say, West Virginia in football, would you hire a guy that Alabama fired that barely made the Outback Bowl every other year with a couple Independence Bowls sprinkled in? With all the resources and advantages that Alabama has?

I'd think he'd come. He knows It's really UK and Florida in the SEC. He knows Calipari is fraud and way overrated. He's already been able to beat Kentucky. Overall I think it'd be a solid hire. Also, his recruiting ties to Kentucky, Indiana, and the midwest, Northeast would be nice.

We need to recruit our own fricking state before thinking we can pull big names from other states.

I agree, it would just be a nice mix if we need something that isn't here.

crean definitely wouldn't be a home run. He was terrible and underachieved at IU

Calipari may be overrated as a coach but the guy is going to have them loaded every year, you're delusional if you think anyone is going to come here and knock them off

Boom...One thing many basketball programs high tier and low tier all have in common is securing the mr basketball player in that state. Look at the years when LSU has had several of these guys on the same team they fared ok.

True, just saying Crean would think he could come in and compete to be at the top of the SEC. Yeah, nobody is going to be bitch slapping UK every year.

Prohm's dream job is Bama, unfortunately. He'll go there when Avery goes back to the NBA (watch for pelicans opening after this year)

NCAA Tournament just became a national audition for the Indiana job. They will have the pick of the litter.
