I think he would be a disaster here.

Here is what he did at Indiana(I took out his first three seasons, because they were on probation)

Sweet 16
Sweet 16
Missed tourney
1st round exit
Sweet 16
Missed tourney

So, he had the type of success that we are looking for at LSU, however he did that while at IU......

I wouldnt hate the hire, but I am not sure it would work here.

What's cool is that he calls timeouts and during them, he pulls the team together to strategize.

Indiana basketball is like Nebraska Football. A former elite program that's thinks it still is a premier program. Recruits not from Indiana don't care about the history of the Hoosiers.

Indiana may make a run at Archie. Everyone thinks he will go NC St because he's an alum, but their AD is a train wreck who has alienated so many former players and coaches from the program. Big10 is exponentially more winnable right now, also.

No buyout for LSU to pay if he'd fired. IU will pay one, and it may drive down his asking price too.

Wrong. IU recruiting is light years easier than LSU recruiting

LSU fans are wanting a coach that can make the tournament 2/3 years with a sweet 16 run every now and then.

Which is exactly what Crean did...............At IU.

So we would have to assume LSU is on equal footing as IU in terms of basketball to get the success we want.

yeah IU is paying crean 4 million to go away and we would owe them nothing. i am not sure what we would owe a school if we took a guy like buzz williams or brey.

I've thought about that as well. I imagine Illinois will make overtures there also.

I'm told by some boosters that the biggest problem on the recruit end and even play end are Collis Temple and his charges. Any coach HAS to kiss Collis' ring because he controls a lot of the AAU in Louisiana
