in this thread must be:

- a link to a song with artist and song title
- the reason you enjoy this song and a small description of why you shared it with the board

I'll go first

Electric Light Orchestra - Jungle

I chose this song because I week or so ago I was listening to a lot of ELO albums and for some reason had never heard this tracks before. Like most ELO songs the strings are fricking amazing and it's pretty immediately catchy.

I also love the line "Wondrous is our great blue ship that sails around the mighty sun and joy to everyone that rides along". ELO rules and I really like this maybe slightly less known track.

Priests- Suck

It's an extremely catch slice of post-punk that is one of my favorite tracks of the year. The rhythm section kills it. There are even some Remain in Light vibes.

Eat acid and visit a graveyard late night with this one playing in your ear.

Exploding Hearts - I'm a Pretender

The second track off of the debut LP "Guitar Romantic," from Portland"s Punk/Garage/Pop band Exploding Hearts.. It was released in April 2003, but 3/4 of the band would be killed in an accident in July of the same year..

This song was written by the unofficial 5th member and New Orleans' favorite son... King Louie Bankston..

It's just infectious pop fun!

John R's cover of Cat's In The Cradle.
I don't think anyone else could cover it this well.

Orchestra Baobab- Foulo

Not sure, just like the song. Nice fusion of musical styles with these dudes.

It really picks me up when I lose an argument on this site and I'm feeling down!

Safesurfer~ Julian Cope

I´ve posted this before. One of my favorite madmen, and this song says so much about him, while still being just really fricking great (ludicrous and time dated lyrics included).

Shintaro Sakamoto - Mask on Mask
Origin: Japanese, or some shite.

No earthly idea what my guy is singing about but it's a delightfully funky number. Some good musicianship.

The Guitar - Guy Clark (w/Verlon Thompson)

Just because and old guy really should try hiding behind anything young....And the tale grabs me.

Some eclectic choices here, have really enjoyed listening to them all.... THANKS - this is two old Texas Balladeers.

I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory. It's Joe Walsh after all.

Television - Days

To me, this is Television's best song. It's not from Marquee Moon, so it gets no love. Richard Lloyd also thinks it's one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.

Days is probably the best example of how Lloyd and Verlaine meshed their guitar work. I can hear that sound in a lot of the bands that followed that I like today. Had To Hear You is a great example.
