Yeah I'll be keeping my 6 and waiting for them to work the kinks out of a new design. I never need the latest and greatest anyways.
good thing about the 6p is that it's still current even though a year+ old. still a beast and really haven't had any major issues with it.

Especially considering built-in obsolescence. I will keep buying cheaper "inferior" LG phones that allow me to swap out the battery and add more memory as needed.

So will this $1,000+ phone still break when I drop it, or is that still not an important feature to have for a $1,000+ phone?

They are reportedly shifting to flexible plastic OLED screens which are shatterproof. I've seen rumors that the back may be glass though, so that'd have the same impact vulnerabilities. But if it's the back it's a lot easier to protect with a case.

It's only natural that Apple would now switch to actual premium displays since the cost has come down dramatically. Now they can justify a price increase and boost their profit margin since their sales are declining.

It is/was absolutely a scale problem. Apple orders 250 million phone screens per year. When less than 10 custom made machines are able to be manufactured per year that make the entire global supply of OLED displays, adding 250 million screens per year was nye impossible. Not to mention OLED has had its problems with color saturation.

Also, the phone isn't going to start at $1,000. That's just going to be the upper echelon of the pricing tiers.

Which is right around where the 7 is right? So this article was pretty pointless.

Article I saw had a 10 year anniversary iphone at 1k, with 2 other iphones at normal pricing (meaning a plus maxed out would approach 1k).

I bet a lot of you saying you'd never pay $1000 for a phone have no problem paying $40k for your truck.

Where can I find a decent new truck for $40k? Maybe in 2010....

You watch. They'll add a god damned touch bar with emojis to the back of the phone and call it a modern marvel. I've been an Apple fanboy for years, but this shite is getting downright depressing.

What's the point of making it super thin if I have to put a case on it.

I'm sure a TON of morons will buy....instead of course, of getting the same features in an android with half the price....

Idiots will always be idiots. Apple is fools gold and continues to trick the clowns that they "need" all new stuff and peripherals.

No, the question you should be asking is "What's the point of making it super thin if the battery life is still really bad."
