I'm going to be driving down to Houston to take in Super Bowl weekend. Far too poor to shell out 3k for tickets so I was wondering where the best places to watch the game will be. It looks like a lot of places are taking the NYE approach and charging a large cover for a spot in their bar. I'm fine with that but am eager to also explore other options.

I know there are a good number of posters from Houston here so I wanted to see if there were any suggestions on where to watch the game.

But not too poor to pay travel expenses, food, and peak priced lodging?

Why do people travel to a city just to be in the same city as a big event with no intentions on attending the event for which they are traveling? Seems dumb to me. If you are doing so to "party" in the off-chance yall win... why not go to Atlanta? More parties and debauchery will happen there on Sunday than in Houston.

Mir lives in a penthouse condo on Kirby, see if he'll have you over.

If you aren't going to the game, wouldn't it be more fun to watch it in Atlanta with millions of your fellow fans?

I'm curious if there will be any huge screens set up in the Discovery Green (downtown Houston park) area to watch the game. There should be a lot of stuff going on there and might be a decent place to watch.

I would suggest you watch it AND stay for free at Owlfan86's 'house'.
Bad news is you will likely get roofied and raped.
Good news is your gf will not be touched.

I live in the same area and will probably be going to Kirby Ice House if the weather is nice. Wherever you go, get there early.

I hate crowds, traffic, over priced beers and a bunch of other shite
