Would you rather Kiffin for one year or Helfrich/Sarkisian/etc for 2+ years?

If Kiffin doesn't get a head coaching gig, it seems more logical that he would get an extension from Bama and stay there with their potent offense and wait out a bigger head coaching gig next year. He is interviewing this year so it is safe to say he won't be around long. Is Kiffin for one year at LSU a good thing? Won't be other schools be using that against us...saying why go play offense for LSU when the coordinator will be gone after a year?
It would seem we could get Sarkisian now...without delay...he is a consultant for Bama and the regular season is done.
Same with Helfrich, although I read some rumor that if Chip Kelly goes back to Oregon, he wants to bring Helfrich back as OC...crazy!
Anyhow, I would be happy with Sterlin Gilbert.
What I don't understand is why an OC won't be announced until after the bowl...

I get the impression Kiffin is gone no matter what and Sark is Saban's next guy.
That being said - I'd prefer Gilbert or Helfrich for LSU.

Because Kiffin won't be ready to be named until then and O is waiting for him.
Get Sark. Kiffin will be moving on regardless and the apparent move is to promote Sark. He would be there for a couple years as is typical with most Saban OCs. Offer Sark $1.5m and make Bama step up.

I'd rather Sark than the other two, just because he'll for sure be at LSU for 2+ years. If Kiffin can keep Brennan, I could possibly live with one season, but I'd prefer at least 2.

No, I wouldn't prefer a one-year Kiffin experiment. I'd want an OC for at least 3 years if he is of equal quality.

I agree, I'd take Riley (Oklahoma OC) or Canada (Pitt)in a NY second. Kiffin is great but go through another OC search in maybe 2 years. frick that, give me a great OC who wants to be here for at least 5 years.

Easily easily easily this. Not just because it would be for longer, but because of them are better OCs than Kiffin is anyway.
