Holgorsen, that's odd. He's in a power 5 now, and he apparently built this huge house in Morgantown. Also, his son is on the HS football team.

Tennessee fans are under the impression that Butch is going to bolt to Houston before he gets the ax.
quote:
University of Houston Vice President for Athletics Hunter Yurachek
“In his short time in Houston, Tom Herman elevated the Houston Football program to new heights, and we are grateful for his contributions to our program. The entire University of Houston community wishes he and his family continued success in this new chapter in their lives.
“We will immediately turn our focus to identifying the next leader of our program. We are confident we will find the right individual who will support the young men who are and have committed to this program and who will also support our mission of building Champions for Life, both on and off the field.
“With a Tier One University, fertile recruiting ground, upgraded facilities including a new indoor practice facility slated to be completed next fall and a roster full of driven and talented student-athletes, the next leader of the Houston Football program will have an outstanding opportunity to compete for championships, maintain our program’s national prominence and continue the H-TownTakeover.
“We are partnering with Collegiate Sports Associates on our national search and all inquiries from interested candidates should be directed to Todd Turner at Collegiate Sports Associates.”

If Houston continues to schedule two P5 teams a year, they're essentially Big 12 light and have a good shot to get in the playoffs if they run the table. With their fertile recruiting grounds and easy but maybe good enough schedule, why wouldn't a HC at a middle of the pack P5 school want to take a shot down there? Next year they have Arizona and Texas Tech on their schedule.

They are probably just angling for pay raises but three of last four U of H coaches landed big gigs in Texas. It's a proven stepping stone job

Holgorsen is not going to Houston.

KK would be taking a HUGE risk trying this
Tech would celebrate getting out from his contract right now

Are these the same sources who told you ND was going to the Big 12?

If I'm Houston I'm going up to New York to steal Dino Babers from Syracuse

Seems like an opening Kiffin might want to fill since top tier programs probably won't touch him as HC.

Holgorsen's agent saw the money UH was throwing around and figured they'd be good leverage for an extension given that Dana coached there before.
