I didn't see where O said USC was his "dream job" in any of those links. Maybe you forgot to add one?

He took over for the 2005 season. In 2003 they tied for first in the SEC West.

Coached under Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll. That's not bad pedigree
Didn't seem to help him much at Ole Miss, though.

They did not have him saying the exact word dream but had several quotes like below
quote:

"I will be a USC Trojan forever, and, I don't know what they're thinking, but the door to come back there is always open in my mind," Orgeron says. "If the right situation comes up this year and they ask me to go back, I'd be more than happy to listen."

quote:

"I told them, hey, it's still my school. I left, but I will never leave."

Dream job still possible for Orgeron

Ole Miss was a dumpster fire. Sometimes things don't work out. Do you know his budget for assistants? Plus the guy admits he did things the wrong way. I'm sure you were the best employee at your first job.

Co Champs!

After Eli left, they were shite. C'mon, you can't just skip an entire season that was so shitty that Cutcliffe was shown the door a year after that "co sec west championship". O took over a team that lost to Wyoming and Memphis.

I don't agree with this part, considering all the teams we've beaten have awful awful defenses, but everything else I agree with. This was a good post.

That coach was Pete Carroll , but apparently he's just another ignorant moron for recommending O so highly according to the village idiots on this board.

Hell, even LSU didn't want him. They preferred Herman. There is no mystery here.

Wrong. Alleva said in the press conference that only O was offered the job. Herman was never coming to LSU-he wanted Texas..If LSU admin had "preferred" Herman, they would have offered him the job.

It appears that every single human who personally knows Ed Orgeron is absolutely gay for him. Players, coaches, media types, you name it. The CFB heavyweights singing his praises on social media right now are impressive to say the least. The thought of a career self centered a-hole like Lane Kiffin possibly leaving the gravy train to work for O speaks volumes. His players resume is freakish and his recruiting ability is legendary. As a position coach, he is considered the very best in the business. When handed the reigns at USC, he took a dumpster fire 3-2 program and finished the season in the top 20. At LSU, he took control of a team with zero offensive creativity and slaughtered school records with a washed up TEs coach on his way to a very respectable 5-2 record against the toughest schedule in the country, hands down. So why is it this man has never been given an opportunity at so much as a DC gig post Ole Miss? Why would SC, who knew him better than anyone, let him walk after the 2013 season? Why would teams let this man sit at home unemployed in 2014? Why would a team like Syracuse decline to even give him an interview last year? What are we missing about Orgeron?

Have you ever stopped and considered that Coach O may have limited his next job to LSU ONLY and every institution that may have had interest knew this?

My Southern California buddy is so happy we took Orgeron and said many USC faithful wish they would have kept him.

I have known Pat Hayden from the days he QB'd at USC. He might have been a Rhodes Scholar, but he was and continues to also be one fricked up head job. He simply use Orgeron and then shite on him and got away with it. Nothing more, nothing less.

People get after Alleva? You haven't seen fricked up until you look at Hayden.

And, just how many nat'l champ rings does he have?

Bet it's at least as many as LSU has in the trophy room...

All the talent left? And yet, somehow, the great coach O, the recruiter to beat all recruiters, could only win 10 games in 3 years and was 0-8 in conference his last year? Never had a year as good as the one that got Cutcliffe fired? This is who we hired?
