So if O needs a top tier OC in order to stay, who could he get?

Based on his contacts, LSU's appeal and damn strong defense.

Jimbo would be a good hire, although I don't know that Orgeron and a good OC wouldn't be the better one.

As for who? Beats me.

Are there any good OCs currently on a team whose HC is on the hot seat? If the HC is fired and the OC is not retained they would be available for hire.

I don't think there is good enough proven OC out there that isn't already angling for a head coaching job. Not one big enough to justify keeping Oregeron as Head coach even if Aranda stays. In other words I think we can not keep Orgeron as HC. We need a big time offensive minded, proven HC.

O has said he wants a Pro style offense

That limits the pool down a lot.

He sorta went Kiffin or bust at Ole Miss.

Hope he isn't gearing up for that again if he gets the job here.

What if he can't get a really good OC and or Aranda leaves? Then what? Still want O?

He already has one. He played here so he can relate to the fans. That's all that matters

Here is the problem. Suppose he does get a well known coordinator (like Kiffin), and then that person leaves. We replace them, and that person leaves. O does not know offense and contribute nothing to it. We have a great defensive coordinator and must try to keep him. O's best spot is defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. Give him a $500,000 raise; he has earned it. We must have a head coach who has tremendous knowledge of the offensive side of the ball.

That's a very legitimate question about Orgeron. I don't think anyone can say how good of a job he'd do identifying, recruiting, and landing a coordinator.
