Coach o should definitely get a shot at a head coaching job. But lsu isn't the place to experiment if he can run a program. I love him to death but there is too much at stake.

He's done nothing but beat bad football teams, beating two more won't say much....and saying well he's done better than Les would have isn't a feather in his cap.

Why is he a candidate? At a minimum out of appreciation. How about because you just asked him to save a tanking season in which you had to fire his boss because of poor coaching. Who in the world is going to give LSU %100 of their time and effort without the courtesy of getting an interview after you succeed. Some of you people are just too ignorant. Ya'll spazz out bc Alleva said O would get a fair shake? What else is Alleva supposed to tell him? Hey save us from losing millions of dollars this year and frick off.. Ok.

LSU has more talent than 10 or 11 of the teams on their schedule. We're not looking for the guy that beats the teams that he's supposed to (that should be a given), we're looking for the guy who can rise above and beat the team with similar or better talent than us.

O proved one thing to me. He can't do that. The moment against bama looked too big for him. He wasted timeouts and clock management was lacking. With the lack of offense in that game, it reminded me too much of miles.

I have no problem letting the man be a candidate and I appreciate what he's done. That doesn't mean he's the best candidate.

This is where the disconnect is. Some of you guys get so emotional. This is nothing personal. I for one love O.

I agree with you and it does go both ways with the emotional position on this one. I can't understand it from either side. I personally want Herman, Jimbo, but there is a spot on that list for O. I don't know where that is but eventually we may be down to him as the best candidate and I don't understand how some people can't accept that.

the biggest problem was somebody (who)? telling him this was an audition for the HC job. it either is or it isn't; if it is and he does great you have to offer him the job or you stab him in the back.

while i'm not sure if he actually WAS told he could get the job it sure is assumed he was.

whatever, if LSU does not offer him the job I sincerely hope some team does. I think the man deserves a second shot; he's proved himself here and at USC.

I really wish Alleva would've given Aranda that interim tag

Yep. It was obvious after the first game O coached. Our fans are too ridiculous to handle the pressure of just hiring the best coach we can.

Logic and reasoning do not exist among them, probably on the lower end of the intelligence spectrum. They also seem to have selective memory and only remember wins from Coach O and losses from everyone else.

Won every game he was supposed to? Slam dunk hire.

LSU will offer him top P5 DC money to be the DL coach and RC at a place he loves. I know it's about fit, but does anyone see him getting a top 40 HC job in the country? Why would we give him a top 6 job?

Ok, I will play. Give me these candidates and their resumes and I will offer my opinion as to why Coach Orgeron should be considered up against this other coach

Scary thought taking another coach with USM connections. He did a good job at USM in his four years there, had good recruiting success. He has had one outstanding season at UNC and I would say three average seasons. His 3-4 bowl record is a bummer. I would place his name in the Top 6-7 of possible candidates

I think he would be a good fit here but I don't know how recruiting would be.

How does he stack up to O's resume?

And what about Jimbo vs O?

Serious questions. Just want to get some insight from the fan base.

You remind me of a Hillary supporter the night before the election, laughing at the mere thought of a Trump presidency.

In Fedora's defense, he got to UNC as the NCAA put them on probation and took away some scholarships.

More concerning for me is that he really doesn't care about defense. He believes they can just outscore everyone they play and UNC has been among the worst in the country in time of possession since he's been there.
