Let them go but charge them a fee for defense since they will benefit from their proximity to us.

I am honestly not opposed to secession. It may be best for everyone in the long run. If Oregon and Washington have a population that overwhelmingly wishes to to part with the Union, why not? Obviously the divide in ideology in this country today is much greater than it has been in our past.

I think there is a moral and rational case to be made in favor of the right to secession.

In fact, I would contend that the states would not have ratified the Constitution or AoC without the implicit understanding that the contract wasn't in perpetuity.

Don't these dipshits realize they have Congressional elections in a couple of years, and another crack at the Presidency in four? Anyway, if they did secede I feel sorry for those in the conservative areas of those states. They are large sections of those in Oregon and Washington. Portland and Seattle is what sinks them. The mountain folk would fight the secession.

I think the valley in California might have beef with the entire state seceding. The coastal cities are deep blue, but a big chunk of Cali is red

You would also lose around $400 Billion in tax revenue, not to mention the countries major technology base.

In reality, this would never happen, but I'd love to see Trumps promise in renewed infrastructure come to fruition here in the form funds for desalination plants and electrical grid improvements.

Currently we receive about 78 cents on every dollar we pay in federal tax, I'd like to see a 1:1 improvement on that ratio earmarked for infrastructure investment.

The consequence resulting in skilled jobs for some of these youngsters losing their minds and a revitalized water and power sector.

Look at the demographics. These judgmental assholes have no idea what they are talking about when they criticize Southerners.

I'd support this. Yes we lose some tax revenue and tech industry but they become self sufficient and no federal tax dollars goin out there. Plus I'd just love to be rid of Hollywood once and for all.

Obviously an agreement would have to be made allowing for a population exchange for those who would prefer one over the other. Not saying picking up and leaving your home is no big deal, but in the grand scheme of a peaceful separation of opposing political factions, it's a small sacrifice.

Aren't these the same people who laughed at certain states wanting to secede because of some recent issues like Obamacare, his carelessness on the border ,and with the mass Islamic immigration?

I support their right to peacefully secede. It would be a huge economic hit to the U.S. but no doubt we would retain close ties with the West coast and it would allow the rest of the U.S. to maintain a more conservative path without the huge number of Democrat votes in California.

But FWIW, they left out the map that shows California being annexed by Mexico which is essentially what his happened with the ongoing illegal Hispanic immigration.
