This is getting ridiculous. Going on 13 weeks after the flood and my house in Baton Rouge still looks like it happened yesterday. Anyone knkw of any good ideas how to get this picked up? I've called and left messages for the debris service, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas? This stuff has got to go.

Rent some equipment, load up a trailer and head to the dump.

That sucks. I wouldn't bet on it moving anytime soon unless you do it yourself.

surely you have thought about the incredible number of houses that have/had debris to pick up...and I am guessing that you would be totally opposed to tax increase in order to hire extra crews to pick it up more quickly?

The final flood debris pickup is starting this week. This Advocate article has a link to check the status.

Push it in the street. I used to do that with cars that were left at shitty houses we were renovating in New Orleans. Just tell them it must've fallen off of a truck. The city will pick it up with the quickness if it's blocking the road.

Of course your neighbors will be pissed you blocked the street, but you won't have trash in your yard

It's Louisiana. The whole state is flood debris on top of trash thrown out of vehicles on top of more flood debris on top of more trash on top of every toilet flush upriver.

They have been to my house 3 times to pick up debris and they told us they weren't coming back. What is pissing me off is neighbors are still piling up the debris outside the front yard.

Bidding on the project has been held up due to money. Trust me, I'm in in the bidding process.

Not sure. But I do know that they are dumping a lot of the debris over at the old military storage ground at the corner of Choctaw and Sherwood.
