oh ok, so it would be basically impossible for the two to co-exist.

I have a hard time blaming ESPN for wanting to be on the parade grounds since the other locations sucked. Students tailgate there and not the old front 9, the old balls in the RV lots don't have the "want" to sit out there for a few hours like a student crowd would want too.

I have never been to parade grounds for this event so I have no idea.

Its a pretty big event where people involved dress up if they arent in uniform. Cannon blasts, folding chairs, speakers, etc. They make all the tailgates around the area keep quiet so going at the same time as gameday wont be an option.

There is a military parade....the rendering of honors depends on who the ranking person is...will not be 21 guns, probably somewhere starting at 13 to 17 guns (rounds fired)...the full 75mm blank on the Parade Ground is pretty loud

Salutes weekend is the closest home game to Veteran's Day...as earlier posters said, 2012 was Miss State, 2014 was TAMU, but odd years are normally Alabama...

the lack of communication between different pieces of LSU is typical...nobody talks to each other...

The 75mm had cars alarms going off all around the Parade Ground in 2011

And I'm glad LSU uses the full blank and not the crappy little shotgun shell

Pack 75 is a fun baby cannon to play around with....wish sometime they'd break them down and assemble them on the spot, you can do it in 7 loads on mules or 9 loads man packing...

5 years ago this wouldn't have been an issue since the frats were just then moving onto the parade ground. I think people would have been more likely move to where ever gameday was going

I remember in 08/09 at chapter meetings discussing tailgates and all the older people were spooked by the Parade grounds since it used to be MIP heaven. However, since it is all collected in one place the cops don't really seem to mess with it. They just feast on the kids that walk away from the tents with a drink.

It is crazy how fast the Parade Ground has turned into one of the bigger tailgate spots.

Apparently, the head of LSU Salutes which puts it together was not even aware Gameday was coming to LSU. Let that sink in for a second.

I heard a 10gauge blank over at Mississippi College a couple of weeks back...they have a guy that reloads the blanks for them...a lot louder than the issue blank....

but getting back to the subject at hand, it drives me NUTS with the lack of coordination

We're old(er) now and moved our tailgate away from this but are still in the vicinity. We looked over at the Parade Ground around 5pm of the Ole Miss game and it was a madhouse.

When we were over there, cops were constantly around. It seems like they've just given up on the area and are basically treating it as a "no go zone"

Definitely not surprising with the lack of communication and planning on LSU's part. But its been on news, radio, facebook, twitter as of Sunday afternoon and the salutes were not aware it was coming?

Gameday is arriving Wednesday evening and start setting up on Thursday am. They better figure out something soon.

I have been tailgating on or around it since my frat moved there in late 2009 and now as a grad. I am pretty over it but LSU got exactly what the asked for when they kicked the frats out of their houses. They forced them out into the wild and evolved into this for a few reasons. One the cops won't/can't do anything and it's like being socialist with women at the tailgate. Instead of fighting for groups to come to whatever tailgate, now women can just bounce around to each one.

From my experience, the cops only pick off people that are away from the pack. Now, the pack is basically the entire north end of the parade grounds.

Part of me is jealous because those tailgates are a lot better than what we had. However, the other part of me is annoyed causes it is just a bunch of try-hards acting nuts to get onto Barstools instagram.

Yea I was walking to our tailgate last year with my son on the parade grounds last year and those cannons shared the **** out of us. My son actually hit the deck I think.

Hannagrif just said on air that talks are in the works, most likely to move Game Day to an alternate location.

As I previously posted, LSU Salutes and Game Day cannot co-exists on Parade Ground(s) at same time.

We have been talking about gameday and the salute as a chapter. As of now, we still plan to be out on the parade ground.
