I felt the same about journey but it's probably a game you had to play when it released and have zero expectations.
Last time Lang was on the bombcast he said he plays through Journey at least once a month. Boyes was talking about his kids playing it and how when they had a random player join their game, even if they weren't able to communicate or know their name, his kids bonded with the other player and were heartbroken when they lost them.
I got it at release and yeah, it's obscure and short, but you know me, I will play a game alone for the soundtrack. But it was a unique MP experience and the sand effects were just outstanding.
This part still blows me away.

Destiny: it's scratching that MMO itch for me just enough, mainly with the LL grind.
Fallout 4: went back after a few months off. I finished the Nick Valentine quest line which was pretty interesting. He just loves me now.
Dishonored: finished it a month ago, I guess, and for anyone that knows me, finishing a game is a big deal. Love stealth and love the art style. Looking forward to 2.

I'll admit it was a beautiful game and I do plan on playing it again to at least complete trophies.

Mortal Kombat XL
I'm enjoying the single player experiences NetherRealm has managed to put together in their fighting games as of late. I log on every week to play the latest premier tower.
Earthlock: Festival of Magic
Great, great game. The story felt a bit rushed, but it seems odd to say that about a game that took me close to 40 hours to 100%. Xbox giving this away for free on the release date was huge.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China
Another free games with gold game. I love the Assassin's Creed series, but haven't had much interest in the side-scrolling options. I never would have played this if not for the games with gold offering. It was fun for a 6 hour run-through, and a decent GwG offering, but it didn't persuade me to buy any of the other Chronicles offerings.
Mirror's Edge
Another free games with gold title. Complete garbage. I really enjoy the free-running and the style of gameplay, but when the bullets start flying the game gets unplayable. I'm not sure how this game ever got any kind of following. I cut it off last night after getting gunned down by an untouchable helicopter for about the 10th time in the exact same spot where I can't run anywhere else. Nonsense.
I've also been playing through Dark Souls, and beat MGS: Ground Zeroes, Pneuma: Breath of Life, & Witcher 2 for the first time all within the last month. I've been on a bit of a gaming binge.
ETA: I've also been playing some "games" on my Gear VR. Mostly just glorified videos, but it's still fun. The Suicide Squad shooter game is too repetitive.

Overwatch - my go to FPS at the moment, fun (though Comp mode can be frustrating)
Star Trek Online - wanted to simply give it a try. A bit addictive, and as a fan of the show I like the elements incorporated into the storyline.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - been on this one for ages. Love the play.
Aside from these, I tend to hold off buying the newest and greatest. Last time I did was Fallout 4. Wanted No Man's Sky, but (thankfully) waited to see what it would be like post-release.

The purpose of the game is speed. Don't worry about guns. Point A to Point B.

I still have BoC, Four Kings, Gywn, and DLC bosses. Trying to figure out if I want to save Solaire or just trek through the Demon Ruins into Lost Izalith.

Been playing ESO lately. Getting my money's worth out of it for sure. I finally made the decision to screw leveling crafting and just play the game. Much more enjoyable.
It's also fun RPing as a Khajiit thief named the Bengal Bandit.
I guess if you count it as playing, I've been putting some time into Clash.

That's what I want to do. The parkour parts are awesome. I just got to a part where the game made me fight three guys in body armor wielding machine guns. That's when I got the helicopter issue. After about 20 minutes I quit.

Just run away to the exit. Don't fight them.
