Going to ride it out in Summerville. Think downtown and the coast will have flooding but hard to say how bad. Good luck with whatever you decide goose.

Matthew's old lady Nicole looks like she'll be a hurricane at some point soon too.

I'm sticking around. Got a kayak and ax if things get gnarly.

On another note, unless there is trouble getting the maps updated, I don't see any recon missions en route or currently in the storm. How does that happen?

There's nothing to weaken it out there. The only saving grace is that it's presentation isn't amazing. Still hasn't filled in well to the NW side. Southern eyewall doesn't look impressive on radar. So he'll need to organize better to really bomb out. IMO

Recon had mechanical issues. They've been in there non stop for the past few days. Not surprising.

HRRR Composite Reflectivity (Simulated) :

I did a little reading this morning and it appears that the HRRR shows no skill in forecasting tropical systems. So it is about as useful as the HWRF (seriously though, the HWRF has done much better since the upgrade)

12z HWRF shows 931 to the east of Gainsville and it is hammering things!

ETA: Shows 921 right before landfall

The gulf stream gives it potential but it's not going to have a lot of time over it before it starts bumping up on the land.

Too many variables to say for sure the impacts.

I wonder if Nicole is going to affect Matthew loop? Also my parents and all of my kin (about 70% of them and most of them is in advance ages 60 to up) lives in Savannah/Hinesville/Glennville GA area and if that new model is right, I probably need to tell them to go to Atlanta this weekend.

Also listening to the WC, explain the last time a hurricane landed in Florida/Georgia/S.C. coastline was 1898.

18 hours and less than 20 mb, possible with that gulf stream fuel. Now will the winds have time to mix down to the surface?

They just showed a shot of Juno pier in north Palm Beach County. The waves look 10-15 feet already. The storm surge is going to be big with this one.

Figured something was going on. The flight from Biloxi just turned around and the other flight is grounded. They have those drone flights but those pussies just fly around and sample the environment surrounding the storm, not the eye wall and stuff though.

On another board, a poster stated an increase from 145 to 155 equates to 14% more power
