Competition (by Les Miles ) - A "statement of obviousness" that says that more than one player at each position on the field is involved in practice, so thus has some theoretical chance of playing. It is not to be confused with the word contention, which would imply that there is some reasonable chance that either of the two "competing" players could win the role of starter.

I'm not against getting the other guys some snaps during a game like this. But Harris needs to be our QB and Miles needs to instill some friggin confidence in that man.
They need to resolve the O line issues or any QB back there is going to get pressured all day long.

Assuming it is true, at this point is this really a good thing? The guy who was 12-21 was determined to be the better QB in practice and scrimmages. How anyone could be optimistic about someone taking his spot that presumably looks worse in practice and scrimmages is mind-blowing.
