Of course but that was understood.
I imagine Kruger and Edebali split the most time at rush end, just like Kikaha and Edebali would have.

is Gwachum a lock, seems that he's having trouble making that next step forward.

Here's jazzy with some sunshine for your soul:

These late Saints roster moves remind me of 2006. Scott Shanle & Mark Simoneau both acquired in late August '06, became productive starters.

He might not be a lock. He's still eligible for PS as well.
Bobby Richardson is also eligible for PS.
It will be interesting what happens at DE. Tapp has looked decent, traded for McCain, and signed Kruger.

I like this move, the guy has quickness and strength

I'm thinking Cam Jordan/Darryl Tapp at SDE and Kruger/Edebali at rush DE. Hopefully Gwachum, Tull, or the dude we just traded for make it to the PS.

Who is "the guy they traded for"?

No he's not, and that's how much further down Tull is.
We likely keep 4-5 DEs. Jordan, Edebali, and Kruger are locks.
You need one more big body so either Tapp or Richardson will make it, then you might keep one more rusher depending on other spots.
Gwacham plays special teams so he likely has an edge over guys like Richardson and Tull, but certainly no lock.
Not sure about this guy we traded for, but iirc he's small small in weight.
Edit:
236 lbs. listed weight. Not sure but we'll see him tomorrow night a ton.
The Kruger sigining might net us our 7th back I think.

Payton pointed out McCain, who is listed at 6-5, 236 pounds, can contribute on special teams and resembles the 6-5, 246-pound defensive lineman Obum Gwacham in build.

Any chance we got ourselves a multiyear deal on Kruger?

Finally something to fap about

Tapp is the only dlineman who's provided any pass rush this pre-season (excluding the first game). If he plays well this week, he's making the roster.

Why was this guy cut? It looks like he is a very good player that had an average year last year. Was there some specific circumstance here?
