Tull? Edebali and Gwacham are miles ahead of him.

I like the optimism but let's slow it down a little. Let's just hope for a solid front four that gets some pressure and doesn't allow 5 yds a carry.

Improved as seasons goes on? Maybe. Special? I really don't get that. Other than Cam and maybe Breaux, it's difficult to identify a single other defensive player that would absolutely start for every other team. I think the overall quality of the defense looks better. There are no obvious major holes. But I just don't see many play makers.

I like Tull as a prospect, but he's a raw player that missed his entire rookie year.

I think we can field a decent defense. This offense had me worried.

So Kruger will play standing up?
Probably only on obvious passing downs.

I'm fine with that. I actually think these will be the best defensive front we've had under Payton.

Which should, in turn, have you excited as frick!

We will score points. We know this. Drew & Brady have both delt with shite offensive lines the same way. QUICK PASSES. We will get our arse whipped a couple of games (offensively) against speedy/sure tacklers, but for the most part we will dink and dunk our way down the field. We always have.

We need a guard ASAP now. I hope Kruger can give us 9-11 sacks this year.

Good signing. Nothing wrong with taking advantage of the Browns shitty talent evaluation...yet again. Willie Snead last year.

Craig Roberstson is looking like a good signing too. All your Browns castoffs are belong to us.

I was glad they didn't sign him when he was a free agent at the rate of the exorbitant Browns contract. Right now it looks like a great signing. He might immediately be the best pass rusher on the team.

I criticize many recent personnel decisions (like no free agent or major draft picks for a proven edge rusher). Better late than never, I give them credit for responding to the poor results of the preseason at least.

In today's NFL parity it often only takes one or two right moves to swing your team performance significantly. This could be a key.

This is dumb statement. Cam wouldn't start over Clowney or Watt for Houston so your statement has now been proven false. Besides, building a defense is not about having 11 all pro defenders, although that helps. It's about running a scheme that your players can execute effectively. Part of running the Saints scheme requires a competent pass rush. Kruger is certainly a competent pass rusher and he seems to stay healthy.

As a bookend to Edabali with Jordan and Fairley rushing from the interior, I think that we may finally be able to generate a pass rush with only 4 players on 3rd and long. If we decide to bring a blitzer, that can be very effective.

The other thing that Kruger allows us to do is utilize some zone blitz concepts since he does now have some experience in pass coverage. Don't use it all the time, but against certain teams, it could be helpful to have.

Cam would start over Clowney or they'd likely be on the field at the same time in passing situations

I agree with the rest of your post though
