Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Stir Crazy,” died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. One of the all time greats. He's been in so many classics. Stir Crazy is probably my all time favorite comedy.

This one hurts. One of my all-time favorites and was also my dad's. So many great lines!

He was hired for a non-comedic role in Bonnie and Clyde and turned his small part into one of the funniest scenes ever. "DON'T SELL THAT COW!"

Incredible talent - he and Gilda were a wonderful couple for however short a time they had together.

His chemistry with Richard Pryor, Madeline Khan and Mel Brooks was some of the best ever, particularly for a comic actor.

But, 83 isn't a bad run. RIP Willy Wonka.

Like many have said, this one really hurts. I don't even know what to say. He was uniquely funny & a talented actor. I hate he's been sick & in private, society sure coulda used his humor. At least now he's in peace & w/Gilda

Dman. I've always loved Gene Wilder. Blazing saddles was awesome.

One of the most hilarious interview questions/responses I've ever heard was one interviewer asking Wilder if he remembered his first meeting with Mel Brooks.

Wilder laughed politely and responded that it would be like asking someone if they remembered their meeting with God.

One of the best men to ever grace the silver screen.

That sucks.
