Look, I can't read another person's heart but I find it very interesting that he did not take this stand earlier when he was the starting QB. Actually not a bad business ploy if you think about it. He has a horrible relationship with GM, trade rumors, trying to win back starting job after being demoted, playing for a coach who was accused of being a racist back in Philly by some players.
Could he be hedging his bet that if he is not returned to the starting job that it will be seen as being retaliatory for his stand on racial inequality?

High time to erase that silly mindset.

So much social progress in 60 short years. To celebrate, we should disavow the country that achieved that social progress and divide into little race grievance groups based on our external racial features. Sounds legit.

AKA the Jason Collins Strategy.
Marginal (at best) NBA player comes out of the closet, hoping to leverage that into a contract, betting that NBA owners will be afraid of being called homophobes.
NBA owners? Zero fricks given. Call us homophobic all you want. A bad investment is a bad investment.

That can't possibly take up much of your morning anymore?
Moves like this are always STUPID.
Has anyone EVER not stood for the anthem or turned their back, and it gone well for the person?

Stop making sense, Scruffy.

Scruffy, I'm not saying it is smart and yes he is horrible. All I am asking is could he be perceiving by doing this he sees it as leverage to get his starting job back. He is also aware of the audience he is playing to here in the Bay Area. Why didn't he take this stand when he was the starter and Bay Area and local media darling just 2 years ago?
Why do it during a preseason game while he is trying to rebound to get the starting job back? Why not two years ago during a prime-time game? Why not while on top, but while trying to get back to the top>

Treason. Should be deported or killed with fire.

"I may suck on the field, but they'll give me the job back because they don't want to be called racist. GENIUS!"
If that is his plan, he is dumber than Johnny Manziel.

Let's try to remember that even though you don't agree with that and find it to be utterly detestable, that the whole point of this country was so he could have the choice to stand or not.
