Mine since christmas and have used it twice when I first got it.
Think it's more suited for people that don't mind "wet" food. ie, chili soup peas. I don't care for those things much. One thing people loved to cook in them is ribs but if I'm going to spend the money on ribs, them badboys are going on the grill not a glorified crockpot.
I should give it another chance though.

Nah, when I go over to their house I'm the only one that drinks. She just makes delicious food and doesn't want to clean up much of a mess. If I would have known about Instapot yesterday I probably would have gotten her one.

Ditto. Hate mushy ribs that come from crockpots or roasters.

I was kidding. That's also over of the main reason I love cooking outdoors. The flavor and less dishes and pots to clean.
You are probably one of the few men who looks forward to dinner at your mom's house.

It's my MIL's house but like I said I eat well and drink alone. It's also fun as hell to mess with her about peeing in her pool.
My mom's house is okay.

When my instapot arrives (by 8 pm tomorrow), I'm going to try this rib recipe. Going to the grocery today to have everything ready. I can't believe how excited I am about getting a pressure cooker in the mail.

haven't gotten it yet, but already having buyer's remorse got swept up in the hype yesterday

I was about to buy one until I remembered I had a Ninja product that sounds like it does the same thing still sitting in a box for over 2 years

What the hell is the point of a Bluetooth toothbrush?

I actually tried that dude's recipe.
They were ok. If you have a decent sauce they are better than what you can get at the average chain restaurant. They won't wow you but they get the job done and getting everything done in an hour from prep to plate is nice. Make sure you have some good sized tongs to get them out.
Also, the timer won't start until the cooker pressurizes fully. I think it's something like 5 minutes but I can't be sure b/c I always go do something else as soon as I seal the lid and hit the button.
this dude here LINK also has some decent things you can try

A lot of people are arguing about whether or not this can do things that a regular pressure cooker can not. Yes, it can. First of all, it can cook rice and make yogurt. Not sure if I will ever make my own yogurt but if I decide to it is nice to know I can.
Searing and browning/sauteeing is not a big plus because any stove top pressure cooker does that, when the lid is not on and locked it is just a normal pot.
However, no normal pressure cooker works as a slow cooker as well. That is a huge plus. I no longer need space in my pantry for a pressure cooker and a big crock pot. This one does it all.

So you're saying the BR protest will be on par with Boston this weekend?

Ehh... I don't think that would really work w/an instantpot. The best you could do would be to just use it to pre cook a whole bunch of chicken breasts at once and then fry them.
I guess you could do a sort of a faux fried chicken if you cooked the chicken in the cooker w/the lid off and then baked it in the oven under the broiler as well.
The guy making ribs in the video posted by Wave also uses the broiler move when he puts the sauce on the ribs.

BTW, my buddy says you can make the best soft boiled eggs in these things in a couple minutes. And for me, Kailua pork will be the second thing I try.

Electric pressure cookers are the best way to cook the larger cuts of wild game. It does a great job of keeping the meat moist and tender.
