Hope he protests from a distance.

He's entitled to his opinion. I hope the mouthbreathers don't get all geeked up about this.

Hopefully the fanbase doesn't turn on him.

it would be smarter for him to not get involved in that.
Keep your head down and do what you've been doing as a great representative to yourself and the school.

The difference is that he's very simply wearing a shirt with a photo of the deceased on it. It's a sign of remembrance, no matter what your opinion on Sterling may be.
He didn't immediately hop on Twitter and start ranting about racism, how evil cops are, how the man is holding anyone down, BLM, or any of the other lightning rod topics that so many other athletes and celebs rush to let everyone know their stance on anything and everything.
Even in this extremely divisive issue, LF keeps it classy.

At least he didn't go full Big Baby. Big baby said Alton was a "great guy" and "wouldn't hurt a fly" LINK

He needs to stay away from that circus and focus on raising his child the correct way.
I doubt seriously he'd want her to become a female version of Alton Sterling or date someone like him.

I'm ok with it. Just don't go on social media and act like an arse and he can wear that shirt all he wants

Fournette needs to stick to what he's good at; being bama's BITCH

Let's bring Alton a National Championship as he looks down on the Tigers from up above.

Maybe he knew the guy or his family and is giving emotional support.
There will be an investigation. Hopefully we can all accept it.

This issue seems to be pretty split down the racial divide unfortunately.

Good for Leonard.
Glad to see it.

Lebron James did the same thing with the "I can't breathe" shirts and the fans didn't turn on him. LF will be alright

Everything I've seen from Fournette (as a person) in the past has been positive and this doesn't change anything. Should he be more like O.J. was when he attempted to completely distance himself from everything?
These individual cases of police brutality and unfair treatment to minorities are more about the overall system (as the O.J. doc showed) rather than specific incidents within individual cases. As a middle-class white man, I try to empathize rather than continually deflect into separate arguments like many choose to do (i.e. black on black crime, whites killed by cops, etc.).
With so many cases in recent years, I'm starting to think that (if you choose to research the facts of each case), you should be able to pick at least one case that you feel the police were significantly at fault and at least one that you feel the victim was significantly at fault (and also one that each party shared fault). However, it seems like everyone picks their side when the story immediately breaks and then hang on to whatever information supports their biased views.

Hopefully Leonard will use this as motivation to beat Bama instead of looking like Trent Richardson's pro career against them.
