It makes 100% sense to trade him now. He doesn't fit with what we want to do offensively. He refuses to pass the ball. Sure he gets to the rim and sometimes will dump it off to Asik or AD if he doesn't have a shot, but we need guards and wings that are willing and able passers. He is not that. It's not say he's not a talented player, but he's a player that doesn't fit Gentry's system. I don't know how many times and ways that has been said.

So he's addition by subtraction? Trading him would be like the pistons with Josh Smith making us instantly better?

Partially yes.
He's not in our future. Better for other players to get minutes.

Forest. Minutes and shots are a commodity that people overlook when building a team. You get rid of Tyreke and that is more minutes and shots to give to core guys who will actually be here for a while. What's the point of giving 25-30 mins and 12-15 shots a game to a guy not in your future plans? And if you don't give him that, you better believe he will become a cancer, because he is trying to get paid next year
He's simply gotta go. You might not be able to use his money to get a better player but you will be able to give out his minutes and shots, and for long term development, that is more important

I think outside of AD, Buddy, and Jrue if he proves to be healthy this year no one else on the team is part of the future.

Maybe not. But guys like QPon and DC don't have games that require a ton of shots and they and their crew aren't gonna complain if they don't get big minutes. Same for Ajinca, Babbitt, etc

Yes, true, but you do have to round out a roster.
And Tyreke:
1) is IN THEORY, tradeable.
2) is in the last year of his contract
3) is a high usage player
4) doesn't play the style of basketball the coach wants to play.
Him being moved benefits everyone.
Obviously you want to move a guy like Asik as well but that's impossible

It will be interesting to see because from everything Dell has shown. What you have been saying you heard Dell wants to do is the exact opposite of that. He has hope things work, he doesn't give players away he rather them contribute, and doesn't trade away guys he considered his core at a point because its admitting to his mistakes.

That's why he will likely only move him if he has another guy lined up. Me- I would dump him even if I didn't. But I think you are right, Dell will only move him if he can go to the press conference and say, "Yeah, it was really tough to let Tyreke go, but financially we had to in order to get this great player next to me."

Which to me screams Bazemore or Barnes or Batum. I'm hoping Bazemore at this point as I think it would provide is a chance to fill other holes and make us more versatile.

I would like to get rid of Tyreke and do a Dudley, Brandon Rush, Nicholson summer personally. Bring back Frazier and Ennis tools instead of Rush and Frazier, Langston Galloway

Has anyone heard even a peep about us being interested in anyone or setting up meetings?
I understand this organization is extremely tight-lipped, but word generally breaks from agents.
Haven't heard a thing.

Rumors are Bazemore but no actual reports.who knows tho every FA we signed was basicly found out when we gave them a offer sheet.

And you won't. But I will tell you Batum and Parsons are getting calls at 12:01. Beyond that, I have little to no idea

I don't mind keeping players like them. You need those guys.

They are not the same.
We've seen what they can do, and they can't do jack. Although i still think Ajinca is a good player. If you aren't going to play them much at all, then get rid of them and put some D-Leaguer out there. They don't provide veteran leadership, and they aren't much better if at all then a D-leaguer. So get rid of them and take some chances on young guys and see if they can become an impactful player to your team.

I think Dudley goes to the Rockets or Celtics. We would probably have to overpay to get him. He just said on twitter at @ 5 mil won't cut it for him.

Not true. Ajinca is like Aaron Gray. He's a matchup center that may only be useful half the time, but in those 40 games he's much better than a DLeaguer would be. Now with Asik on the roster we shouldn't need a Ajinca/Gray type backup, but if the plan is to eventually replace Asik with Diallo, you want to keep a guy like Ajinca around rather than hope to replace him with a DLeaguer.

I'd give Dudley 10-12 per. And I would think that is a value contract. I might go up to 14 if he lets me keep it at 2 years

Which is another reason trading Evans is vital especially if you can open up more cap space. I'm not 100% sure but fairly positive that if you rescind Gordon's and Ryno's bird rights plus waive Douglas or Babbitt you're left with about $18-20m in cap space. Moving Tyreke gets you an additional $10m in space assuming you don't take on a contract in the deal. That should leave you plenty of room to sign a Bazemore, a Dudley, and a couple smaller pieces. I believe TBW has an article discussing it. We would be a lot better tomorrow if that happened today.
