I'm a little younger, I grew up riding in a model around this age range. I believe it had some wood paneling too. We also had an AMC Matador and an old CJ7 Jeep.

Yes.My Mom had a fake wood and blue, with the rear facing back seat.
I took it back to Tuscaloosa to move home for the Summer. You can load a bunch of drunks in one of those.
I got a DWI in it that week.Only one I've ever had.It cost $145.00 and 3 nights of DWI School.

Parents had the wagon but no seats facing out the back. South Louisiana with 4/90 a/c. When it was really hot or raining dad would say to open those little tilt in windows.

Our family didn't have one but rode in a couple of them, one of which was my dad's co-worker. Early to mid '70s Chrysler.
Our family car was a '72 Cutlass Supreme and were also toted around in a camper similar to this:

72 Ford Country Squire station wagon - olive green with wood grain. Car we learned to drive on.
Dad was too cheap to buy ArmorAll so wood grain got baby oiled to make it shine.
Had two jump seats in the back that lifted up and you sat with your feet on the spare tire.
My brothers & I would get back there and beat the shite out of each other while Pops drove and knocked back a few Old Milwaukees to calm his nerves.

We had the jump seat station wagon for maybe 6 weeks. White with paneling.
Dad decided he hated Fords so one day he comes back with this Suburban. We kept it forever and I got my drivers license in it the day I turned 15.

In the 70s, tried to talk my dad into buying the "Joe Mannix" car, a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado. Nope. We had a boring Chevy Impala.

Never gave my pops enough credit but he always had a nice ride. He grew up racing on a Midwest dirt track and would never drive an ugly ride.
Most of my childhood, he drove a white 69 charger. For some time after he had a convertible thunderbird and then a gold 71 camaro.
I would love to have any of his old cars now.
