Danny Ainge playing chess while Dell Demps plays "sit in the corner quietly and don't die".

I think most of the trade back talk is just my 2 or 3 for 1 fantasy. All indications are that we like all 3 of the guards which is surprising considering Murray's youth.

6. New Orleans Pelicans
Will pick: Jaylen Brown, F, Fr., Cal
Ford: The Pelicans are another team apparently shopping their pick in hopes of landing a young veteran who can expedite the rebuilding process. If they keep the pick, they need a lot of help in their backcourt.
Eric Gordon is a free agent this summer. Jrue Holiday is in the last year of his contract and has been fighting through injuries the past two seasons. The team needs both shooting and playmaking.
If Dunn were still on board, he'd be ideal. If he's gone, the choice will likely be between Brown, Murray and Hield. Murray and Hield are lights-out shooters. Hield is more NBA-ready and a better athlete. Murray is more versatile, bringing the ability to play both the 1 and the 2. Brown isn't a great shooter yet, but he's physical and has the potential to be an elite defender -- a must on a team that ranked 28th in defense last year.
Should pick: Marquese Chriss, F., Fr., Washington
Bilas: Chriss is a freak athlete with an incredible 7-foot wingspan. He has not played a ton of basketball to this point, but he's young and has the mechanics and potential to be a great player. He's also an excellent shot-blocker, though he has quite a bit to learn in pick-and-roll situations and transition.

Sounds like Demps is trying his damnedest to screw it up again this year. I hope he does not make another stupid trade and waste yet another year of rebuilding of this team.

we'll pick the guy who has athletic ability and less real basketball skill. will fit in nicely.

So in the SBNation mock draft David Fisher was able to trade Tyreke and a 2nd to Detroit for #18 which he used on Taurean Prince. That's crazy right? I guess Evans fits as a good backup to Reggie Jackson, and honestly they don't have a ton of needs, just upgrades which #18 wouldn't provide. And Detroit was probably the 2nd most interested in Tyreke when we signed him and backup PG might be the biggest hole on the roster. So not crazy?
Reggie Jackson/Tyreke
KCP/Meeks
Johnson/Morris
Harris/Tolliver
Drummond/Baynes

3-8 GMs should all be making calls as there are teams with lots of picks, a huge salary cap bump, and prospects 3-8 are all similarly ranked. I guess I would be upset if he wasn't fielding calls.
I still don't want him to trade the pick under the vast majority of scenarios.

well on the bright side, hopefully a flooded trade market hinders Demps' ability to make a trade....I guess.

The trade you were talking about sent Evans to the Jazz. Pistons got 23, 39 and Trey Burke

Getting Dunn and Prince would be a hell of a haul. Probably best case outcome

That's what you get when you only have time for headlines. Thanks for the correction

You don't think we need a guy who can put the ball in the basket? Like Hield or Murray?

I'd draft him for his post game press conferences alone
