So far in 2016, there have been 11 homicides in Shreveport. Thats like 5 years worth for Gretna.

It evens out when you consider Shreveport has twelve times the population of Gretna.

.06 murders per 1,000 in Gretna, .10 in Shreveport, and .36 in New Orleans. Gretna and Shreveport are pretty close when you control for population.

I can't lie.. When I was a teenager, I had a big van.. We use to pack that bitch up with people and go do some silly shite that we are lucky we never got caught doing. All of a sudden someone was hanging out the window unloading on this chick's car. She ended up having to get a new paint job, but nobody snitches..
We were being lil punks. I am not telling the story as if I think its cool. At the time I am sure I did, but I am pretty sure New Orleans isn't the only place something like that happens.

While I think it is completely stupid to go around shooting paintball guns at people and will wish they never did it when they come across the wrong person, I think its a bit of an overreaction by saying "NOLA is a fricking mess right now". If there was a protest getting out of hand and there is tension between police and protesters.. Something like that. I would say "man its a fricking mess", but this?
