Can't even remember why we went but we took a charter bus to Chattanooga sophomore year. Great things happened on those busses at night under blankets

The French Quarter in 6th grade.

The chaperones were specifically instructed not to take us kids onto Bourbon Street. There were four of us boys, and the mom apparently didn't give a crap about those rules.

We spent more time on Bourbon Street looking at the polaroid photos taped up on the windows of the strip clubs than anything else that day. Excellent education that day.

Angola.

Some loser prisoner was set up to give us a speech at the end about life lessons. He saw a couple buddies and me laughing at him and lost it. Started yelling at us about respect and that we'd be in there with him one day. It ended the field trip. I've never been to prison. He's prob still there.

this is a bit of a cheat, but...

My 6th Grade class won some competition with a "GeoBear" so we got to go to DC and meet Pres. Clinton and get a private tour of the WH and Air Force 1 and whatnot. We had a private lunch at the WH as well. I still have an uneaten WH edition chocolate bar and the napkins.

We also were on the TODAY show.

We were there for a week.

It was awesome.

I went on some awesome field trips in middle school. A week in Chicago was the best followed closely by colonial Virginia, Philadelphia, and all points in between.

Not really as a kid, but in high school, I took this health/PE elective class. It was basically like advanced PE and was difficult to get into. The teacher was this really awesome health freak who just loved finding fun ways to stay healthy and active. We had a field trip every week (class was always next to lunch hour so we could do something local and only take up the class time and lunch). We also did one "big" field trip every grading period. Some of the things we did that semester:

-Rock Climbing
-Ropes/Zip Line Course
-Lazer Tag
-Roller Rink to play roller hockey
-and a bunch of other small things like going to local pools, or playing racquetball at the local gym, etc..

Nothing huge, but the whole semester was a blast. She'd spend one day discussing health, and the other days either doing a field trip or something.
