I'm an adventurous eater and enjoy watching Zimmern eating funky foods. Is there any area restaurants that serves weird stuff?

Just looked at their menu. Interesting.

A lot of places serve some kind of weird bug critter. They boil them first. I think they're aquatic. They're all bright red and gross-looking.
Those coonasses must have been some hungry people to figure out you could eat that.

N7 has canned eels on the menu. What do you consider "bizarre"?

When I lived in NO I was always intrigued by the Ethiopian joint on Magazine. Never went though.

It's good, there are two on Magazine now.
Abyssia in the quarter is good too. (I think it's west African though)

Go to Ville Platte and get a ponce -- I think most would consider that to be pretty weird
Also Johnny Sanchez in New Orleans serves the chapulines (grasshoppers)

If you consider sweetbreads bizarre Toup's does a sweetbread poutine that is outrageously delicious. It will take a couple of years off your life, but live well and leave a good looking corpse.

Sabores Dominican Restaurant in Bossier City has Cow Feet for the Monday Special. Tripe is on Thursday. I've eaten there many times but went with other items. I asked for the cow feet once, but they were out.
Mexican taco joints like La Michoacana in Shreveport have menudo (loaded with tripe) on weekends. LM serves pozole soup on Saturday (delicious) and menudo on Sunday.
I don't do tripe. Perhaps it can be good, but my one try was some of the worst "food" I ever put in my mouth.
A Vietnamese place here used to serve a soup that had blocks of what looked like gray tofu on top. I asked what it was: pork blood curd. I guess no one liked it because when I ordered it later and asked to cut the pork blood, they said they no longer included it.

Bun bo hue is the soup with the blood cakes. It's so good, spicy sour and rich

Nawf La. feller tells coonass, here drop these taters, corn and sausage in the pot. It really seemed to take off.. Strange...

That looks really good to me.
I've been to Square Root as wescarl mentioned where Chef Lopez utilizes molecular gastronomy. It's truly a unique experience.
McDonald's is pretty bizarre imo.

I would love to try that. What's all on the plate?

Didn't he do a Bizarre Foods in south louisiana? You should watch that and then go try to find some mullet roe.
