Your high school wardrobe: would you wear it now?

All this talk of 1999 got me thinking about the clothes I wore in college, high school, junior high, etc.

Could you pull off these fashions today, or would you die of embarrassment?

Mine:

Add in the occasional Mossimo shirt, oversized random sweatshirt from someplace I'd never been, oversized earrings, Bass oxford shoes, hologram necklace, you've got high school for me.

Just the mom jeans alone would do me in.

Apparently you've been waiting for this moment for quite some time. Was it worth it?

I used to wear a lot of Abercrombie... But this was back when Abercrombie *wasn't* the gay dance club at the mall.

Kids these days don't know that A&F used to be all "outdoorsy", plaid carpeting, moose heads on the wall, kinda rustic atmosphere.

Almost like a "trendy" Eddie Bauer... Those were the days

Sadly I still own a few of the polo shirts, but god no my fashion sense was cringeworthy in HS.

(I went to HS in the early to mid 00s so think lots of striped collared shirts from Marshall's/TJ Maxx, with baggy jeans)

hahhaa no

I wore the wide leg Levis because my parents wouldn't let me wear JNCOs

had to have those awful Doc Martens too

then topped it off with some really witty graphic t-shirt

Uh no, bellbottoms, paisley shirts and wide belts died a deserved death and shouldn't ever be seen again.
I think the follow up question would be, could you still wear it now?

I've been wearing khakis and polos since I was 2. I've never changed, and I never will.

I remember wearing these in all different colors and you could roll them up into the front pocket into a pouch. Think they were old Navy.

For the most part, yes, but there are a few things that were regrettable.

The biggest issue would have been my haircut.

Followed closely by my knockoff Jncos and that awkward summer where I wore short-sleeved Hawaiian shirts unbuttoned with a white tee underneath and Jesus-style sandals.

Jincos, a tool shirt, black converse and one of those big metal ball necklaces?

If I could fit into it, hell yes.

Miss my long hair

No american eagle t-shirts and rugby shirts, or the cargo shorts in my wardrobe, and I definitely do not wear birkenstocks anymore.

Uh, I already do that. Khakis, starched oxfords, dress shoes. That's why they call them "timeless."
