Again Sumlin gets credit for not having done anything.

Boggles my mind how this guy is so highly thought of..

Wins games at a higher clip than anyone in school history. Multiple SEC championships. Multiple NC appearances. Constantly brings in top 5 recruiting classes.

Do you not think he is? And if you don't, what is your measure of success?

Even if he were a mediocre coach, only two guys in the SEC have win % higher than his.

I know some A&M fans who would agree their number three ranking is a bit generous.

It is difficult for the Bleacher Report staff to see clearly with all the Saban splooge in their eyes, so they come up with this crap.

Fla. at number two is laughable.
Mississippi State at #12 is laughable.
Texas A&M high ranked better than LSU when A&M 4-0 vs.,them, is laughable.
But each to our own.

He is damn near a HOF level coach, but don't let facts persuade you.

This is a ranking of the ENTIRE staff though, and LSU has just about as good as you can get. The only unproven commodity on the staff is Juluke at RB's coach, but I think he will quickly earn his pay. LSU has the best defensive coaching staff in the country IMO.

ETA: Forgot about BDP. We drop a spot for having BDP.

It really isn't even about where LSU is ranked though. It's like they just drew names out of a hat to come up with this entire list. It just doesn't make sense at all.

We have the best DC, terrible OC and ST Coach..... And a head coach who's mind is equivalent to that of a peanut.... If this where best recruiting team we would be 1 by a landslide but where we are seems about right...

True. Although to be fair, LSU would have won the East if they were in the East.

Our DC hasn't coached a game for us yet. Our OC has decades of successful offenses and has had a good offense in 2 of 3 years here. The only year he failed he had a true sophomore starting at QB, a true freshman starting at RB, and a RS sophomore and two true freshman starting at WR. He was left with no experienced players. ST is an absolute mess.

Yet he's the most successful coach in school history and a HOF level SEC coach. He's won a NC, played for another, and put together an impressive 11 year run averaging over 10 wins a season. Sounds like he might know a thing or two about what he's doing.

Check the recruiting rankings the last 8 years and tell me who is number 1 in a landslide. HINT: You might want to start looking in Tuscaloosa.

Since he has never coached at LSU that makes him a bad coach?... Check his history he made a Wisconsin D that had a bunch of 2 and 3 stars and turned them into a top 5 D in the country. As for Cameron u cannot be serious defending him... He has done nothing. He has had the likes of Jeremy Hill, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham Jr, Zach Mettenburger, Malchi Dupre, and Leonard Fournette. But our offense is inconsistent game after game.

LMAO yes he does know exactly what he is doing. He is a stubborn dip sh!t who will not adjust his philosophy to the way football is played today and putting us behind the curb because he doesn't know who coach a QB. So his answer to that is to run the ball just as much as ARMY and NAVY. Imagine Fournette with a good passing game.... UNSTOPPABLE

The ranking is based on staff... We have the best recruiters in the nation by a landslide. Ed O, Bradley Dale Peveto, Dameyune Craig, and Les Miles. BAMA has Saban one recruiter.... With the biggest recruiting pitch of all WINNING! Which is why they get the #1 class every year not because they have better recuiters than LSU.....

I don't think he made an appearance in the second NC... at least nobody noticed if he did.

I know LSU has lost a lot of big names from the staff the last two years, but this is absolutely horrific.

The Aranda hire alone should put y'all in the top 3, at least.

Aggy needs to drop about 6 or 7 places.

No, I think he is an amazing coach. But I can see how some would be skeptical because they haven't seen him coach in the SEC yet.

2013 was one of the best offenses in school history. 2014 was a disaster - see my above post. 2015 was more of a mixed bag, but the players with experience played really, really well. This year he should produce an offense that can win games for LSU. If he can't do it this year, I'll agree that he is dead weight.

Imagine if he throws the ball 50 times in a game and we lose by multiple scores. That's what happens every time we do that. His job is to win football games. I don't give a shite what style he uses to do it. He has proven over 11 years he knows how to do this better than most.

OH, so you don't know what you're talking about at all! Well I could have guessed that and saved myself a lot of time.

I wouldn't trade anyone on our coaching staff for anyone on A&M's coaching staff. That's just downright dumb.

Obligatory qualifier - Aranda hasn't coached a game much less an entire season.

But at this juncture I would not trade out D staff for any other in CFB.

OTOH, you have to deduct a lot of points for the dysfunction on the O side.

UF coaching staff had one season, they lost 4 games and were worse on offense than LSU.

So yeah on the other hand....

Losing Frank hurts, but this isn't about recruiting rt? I really don't think there will be a drop off in rb performance at LSU.

But LSU did upgrade at DC and wr coach.
