Thinking about replacing headlights w/ HID any recommendations/dos/donts/brands?

I searched the outdoor and tech boards but didn't find any posts

Please for the love of god, if you get HIDs then switch your housing to a projector.

OEM reflector housings are not meant for HIDs. You will be scattering light everywhere

If you are going to upgrade do it right and retrofit projectors into your factory lights. If you don't you'll be blinding oncoming traffic.

You can get a full retrofit kit from the retrofit source.

Get the kind that are extremely bright and angle into oncoming traffic. Those are awesome.

I'd only do a swap in a vehicle with projectors with a cutoff, otherwise swap the whole rig out with aftermarkets.

You can get cheap projectors on amazon for the retrofit. E45s I believe.

Don't be that douche. If you need brighter lights get dedicated off road lights.

I'm on board with the others here who suggested you swap them out in a projector. I did a retrofit on my old vehicle and it had a very sharp cutoff line with really good spread (probably about 160 degree coverage on the road).

I have Phillips LMZ LED plug and play headlights right now. They have a decent cutoff line in a factory housing and I made sure to reaim them after installation. Never get flashed or anything. Make sure you have enough room at the back of your headlight housing for the heat sink and fan.
