Exactly Nurse, just like those of us so fortunate to pay for our college before this. I mean how anyone ever made it before TOPS is a huge mystery, amirite?

Tbh looking back I wish I would have joined the Navy and let it pay for nursing school. I had high ASVAB scores for a chick and Navy recruiters wanted me to join(kept trying to entice me saying how great it would be to be a navy nurse).

It would have given myself a ton of discipline I honestly needed back then and would have likely done a world of good for me(gotten me away from a loser bf at the time, gotten me physically fit, etc, etc.).

Explain how Jindal caused oil to drop not only below 65 a barrel but to 27 a barrel. Why has nobody that blames this on Jindal been able to answer this question?

The state makes a shite load of money off many different tax vehicles off oil. It's part of the states revenue. Sure Jindal could have found other industries to come to this state that didn't rely on oil. He did bring in movie industry but they mostly preyed on the tax benefit. Jindal cut the budget a lot but he should have cut it more.

But please explain to me how this Tops announcement is still made today if oil is 65 dollars a barrel.

Catman you're forgetting who you are dealing with. These people don't want to face reality. That's hard. They'd rather find someone to blame cause that makes everything better.

The state of this is something that has happened over a 7 year period. When Jindal took over the state had a $1B surplus. Oil has been going down what? The past 6 months? Are you saying within that time the state turned to shite?

Ahh, the price of oil has been tanking for over one maybe two years. Jindal is culpable but for the love of God, try to get some historical perspective.

FYI- oil prices only accelerated the fiscal chrisis we face. This shite goes back beyond Jundal. It's a centuries old mindset that has led us to this point.

Why did the state have a one billion surplus? Because of the great job Blanco did or because of the ONE TIME influx of federal dollars due to Katrina??

You really believe oil has been down for only 6 months? It's been below the budget threshold for 13 months. It's been falling for almost 2 years.

Jindal inherited the largest state government in the US. We are still #6. Was he perfect? Hell no but we are not here today because of him. The state was eventually going to face this day since it tied itself to the hip of big oil many years ago.
