My concern with Scott is this: The true dual threat QB's as opppsed to the trend of somewhat mobile "pro style" guys we've had lately, in general need a little more development in their passing. Be it touch, accuracy or not being too quick to try to scramble, sometimes they're a bit raw.

That concerns me because we haven't seen much in the way QB development from our current staff. Particularly of high school QBS that have joined the program. Lee, Jefferson, Jennings and Harris are the main guys Les recruited out of high school who got a lot of playing time but never developed into consistent players. Those guys might (though it's not a given) have been slightly ahead of Scott as pure passers and they didn't pan out (the jury is still out on Harris).

If Scott does need some quality QB coaching and development, I'm just not sure these are the coaches who can take his game from high school sensation to SEC caliber starter. The current system doesn't utilize much of the what these guys learned in high school and certainly fails to capitalize on the athletic capabilities of a guy like Scott or even Harris and Jennings. It's not a surprise we have development issues when you recruit guys who's quarterback knowledge comes from 2 to 3 years of running a spread offense and they're then asked to move under center.

Damn, turning down Harvard would be hard to do...

He was ready to turn them down to go to Syracuse. I don't see why he wouldn't turn them down to go to LSU.

That's exactly what the hell im saying. If Scott can play, he can play. An offer shouldn't come this late because of his height. I realize it is kind of a last resort to our coaches, but im excited he got an offer.

So he is no longer Paul Turner?

The notion that the only reason he wasn't offered earlier strictly based on his height is fricking stupid. Unless you think pretty much every other p5 school has the same requirements

He needs to go to Harvard or Maryland and play ball. With either of those degrees he will be set for life.

A degree from Maryland is pretty damn prestigious. More so than LSU, Rutgers and probably Tulane.

So I believe everyone is in agreement: We are overjoyed Scott got an offer but he should probably go to Harvard.
Unless, unless, unless, he wants to be the backup QB at LSU and make his fortune working for the Autoyes Clown post-graduation.

That's what I was thinking. Only now, after we've struck out with literally every QB we've tried to recruit this season, do we give any attention to this kid.

You are categorically fricking wrong.

A Harvard degree is on a separate level than anything LSU could provide save for Petro Engineering (good luck with that now).

And, you may be shocked to realize that after spending QT in Boston, he may decide that SoLa is not necessarily the best place to raise a family. I get the family love but there's a giant wonderful world out there.

Hadn't seen this posted, but his highlights from the All American Bowl. That's some talented competition and some pretty tall linemen and didn't seem to faze the kid.
