As a little kid, not all the time, at least not til I was upgraded to front seat status. Still recall lying in back of the hatchback watching the clouds thru the louver blind things. Born 1977.

My dad still sometimes skips putting his on. He & his wife came to visit us in Germany, and like dumbasses, they'd often skip putting on their belts. On the fricking autobahn riding in a car going 100 mph. Had to threaten to pull over multiple times. They'd have died and killed us as they ejected if we'd crashed.

From birth through high school none of our cars had seatbelts. Got my first car with seatbelts in 1975 started wearing them religiously then and ever since.

Born in the early 70s. I vividly remember. Not wearing seatbelts. Also walking in and buying ciggs for the old man when I was 5.

Well seeing as how science can be a jerk from time to time, I definitely wear one.

I would rather not continue forward at the same speed of travel upon impact into the windshield or side windows

Driving without a seat belt is a good way for natural selection to do its work.

Never wore it until they put in the damn beeping sensors. Now I wear it religiously.

About 5 years ago I went to a junk yard and got two seat belts for my dad's birthday. So he could clip them in the buckle and not have to wear the seat belt. He said it was best gift ever.

I always put it on of I'm driving, but I never remember if I'm a passenger. Always need the singing to remind me.

I still fuss at my dad when he doesn't put one on. It just doesn't feel right not having one on. Hell, I'll put it on just moving a car in a parking lot from habit.

And the whole back seat doesn't need one thing is hogwash. If you get in a head on wreck at 50 mph, you'll be in the windshield. Just put on your seat belt. It's not that uncomfortable at all.

I never even seen a seatbelt until I was 14 years old. I was down in the floorboard looking for change and said "daddy what's this big metal thing connected to a strap" he said put that thing back down there it's gonna flail around and hurt some one. Nobody gave a frick about kids back in them days lol.

I remember being in 1st grade and sitting in the backseat at a right turn lane. Suddenly my mom starts screaming at us to put on our seatbelts. We all scramble to get them on, 3 seconds later, CRASH. We're rear ended ended from behind by the trailer of an 18 wheeler. He pitches us forward into the car in front of us. He'd been trying hard to slow down, but couldn't. Thankfully he pushed his cab into the ditch when he realized he was about to take out a little car. Cab probably would have killed us.

Definitely was an impetus to start wearing it more regularly, but still probably didn't do it every time I rode till maybe 11 or 12 when the schools started harping on it, mid 80s.

In the 60s, 70s, and 80s there were less cars on the road. Nobody wanted to be strapped to a steel gas can. We were free baby! Pintos!

You can turn the seatbelt chime off. It's a sequence of unbuckling and buckling while turning the key a few times.

100% serious. It'll be in your manual. I did this in my truck Bc I never wear my seatbelt.

Never wore a seatbelt until i heard the news about Derrick Thomas being paralyzed and later dying because he had an accident and was not wearing a seatbelt.

Now, i never get in a car without buckling up.
