This Alabama and Saban thing is on top now but it won't last forever.
Nothing does.
As long as Saban continues to pull in #1 recruiting classes they aren't going anywhere. I've never seen a program that can lose players to the NFL and replace them like Bama does. The only way Saban falls off is if someone comes forward about his players getting paid.

First, that article is little more than a thoughtless regurgitation of the inaccurate Saban invincibility meme. Second, as should be plainly evident to anyone with functioning synapses, Miles recent failings go well beyond losing once a year to Bama.

It's not just Bama, it's the way he allows this team to basically give up on the season after losing to Bama. He can't keep this team focused.

Yeah and the game prep department from LSU must have had a bye when preparing for Arky this year too.

Highest paid staff in the country and top 5 talent

=\=

3-4 losses and second/third tier bowl game.

Or

The QB is too (fill in th blank with your favorite excuse) to win.

If it was just a single loss to bama or one of the better SEC teams and finishing in a big bowl game or in the playoffs with a title shot it's acceptable. But if your not competing for championships or at least New Years 6 bowls its failure.

LSU has the resources and highest paid staff. Nothing else needs to be said.

And as one veteran coach in the SEC told me last week, if Saban coaches another 40 games in the SEC, he'll probably be 35-5 again.

"Veteran", eh? Nice to see that Les has both a defeatist attitude when it comes to Saban AND he's a wiz when it comes to addition.

If Les could just give us a fighting chance in some of these losses, I mean coach em up as they say, I would be ok with it. Please Les just give us a ray of hope in ALL the games next year then if we lose I will say shite we got beat, unlike 1/9/12

ETA. We have the talent, facilities, boosters, $$$$, etc. NO EXCUSES COACH

So I'm guessing we are suppose to just sit on our hands and play second fiddle to Bama until Saban retires... Im sorry but I think there are other coaches who could come in and do better than CLM.

I respect Miles as a HC and Leader. But I strongly feel JF could do even better. Dantonio, Meyer, Dabo, Chip Kelly maybe and Patterson at TCU. Shaw maybe too. That is about it among proven coaches. And odds are four of those six more likely than all six.

An up and comer is just that and they are an unknown. As good as Fedora or a Herman could be they are still an unknown at the SEC stage. An up and comer could be the next Saban....or the next Curely Hallman (although it nay be even more difficult to be as horrible as Hallman as it is great to be like Saban LOL!)>

The team McClendon took over in his first year after Dietzel was plenty talented.

Then McClendon's teams from 1969 to about 1972 or 1973 were very talented, compared to the teams of that era. Especially 1969 and 1970.

McClendon had quite a few really talented teams.

Yes he did, especially on D. Art Cantrell, Bert Jones, Tommy Cassanova, Charles Alexander, Ken Bordelon, Doug Moreau, Andy Hamilton etc etc. just a small sampling of talent who were coached by McClendon. But Charlie could not keep up with the recruiting game and the talent fell off after 71'- 72' recruiting classes. His late 70's teams were not very talented but they fought like h&(( under McClendon and tried their best when over matched.

LSU quits after bama loss. You act like Arkansas or ole miss is winning sec championships. I don't like it either but don't act like either of those are the new elite sec programs. Its obvious team puts to much into bama, from an emotional standpoint....and it works against them when they lose

We are fast approaching bottom feeder status under Miles.

sorry, it's not what you did the first 5 years you were here, it's the LAST 5 YEARS.

i'm a huge Miles supporter but my support is cracking because the results are not what they were. AND, they have been going down every year (ok, not this year) AND we get the shite kicked out of us by Bama every year AND we got butt stomped by both Arkansas and ole miss.

Miles USED TO compete for SEC west titles, SEC titles and National titles. now he doesn't.

it's his own fault for either getting complacent or hiring shitty assistant coaches and allowing the recruiting to be dictated by rating services instead of team need.

I don't care how you paint it, unless LSU begins to AT LEAST frickING COMPETE for titles again, Les Miles will be gone and HE SHOULD BE. sorry, results count. LSU is not Virginia Tech.

We have been beaten decisively at BD, not in TS. 2012 and 2014 were game that could have gone either way. Its not like Bama has beaten us by 30 + points every time since 2011.

Arkansas didn't have the week off before the LSU game. Arkansas won a wild OT game at Ole Miss the week before coming in and kicking LSUs arse.

Is this the best you can do?

Downplaying blowouts to Arkansas and Ole Miss because they aren't winning SEC titles? This should make those kind of losses WORSE in perception.

LSU has paid Miles nearly $50 million - I wish my employer would mistreat me like this.
