from Dandy Don:

quote:

Hawthorne asked Miles for his general thoughts on the season. Miles pointed out that the losses the team sustained were against some of the best teams in the league and that if they had not had a series of injuries the outcome might have been very different, but that they are still set to play in what he said is unquestionably a quality bowl matchup.

I didn't hear the actual quote, but if that's what he said then that's what frustrates the hell out of me about Les. He either won't tell it like it is or he's really that clueless. Is JD Moore really the glue that held this entire team together? Were injuries the reason we came out flat against Arkansas and Ole Miss? Did injuries cause yet another Les Miles mass confusion moment at the goal line?

Why can't he just admit we played like crap in all three of those games, that we have huge problems that must be addressed, and not just a tweak here and there and a healthy fullback and we'll be fine?

No matter how bad you fools on this board want to, it is impossible to win the national championship every year

You don't think he knows that and talks about it in house? Not sure why you need him to tell you this.

Do you truly think he believes every thing is peachy?

Basically what you wanted him to say was:

"I am a bad coach. I make too much money. I hate LSU and deliberately sabotage the season just to make the fans angry. I laugh at all of you when the armored car picks up my money. I love keeping all of you really really smart fans in the dark because I am aware that each and every one of you knows more about football, the dynamics of the team and the situation around the program than I do."

That about it?

I guess Texas Tech, Toledo, and Memphis are deeper than LSU and better equipped to handle injuries to a fullback and tight end.

Guess we're fricked in the Texas Bowl, eh Les?

He's actually not wrong, well minus Arkansas. But Ole Miss and Bama are two of the top teams in the league and if going by the bowls they were the two best teams in the sec this year.

Also, LSU did have a lot of injuries. I'll also go out on a limb and say the whole, he's being fired before the season was over didn't help much.

Just hope they finish with a win and start to rebuild that depth on the defense with this class.

Don't short change the loss of our only true blocking TE as well.

What exactly do you think he should have said?

He's not wrong. If we have a healthy JD Moore and Dillon Gordon for Bama, the running game would've actually existed. Who knows where that game and the rest of the season could've gone from there. Moore and Gordon were bigger losses than this board realizes.

Since when is Arkansas one of the best teams in the league? Risible nonsense.

J.D Moore wasn't the only injury. Players played through injuries that depth would have allowed them to sit out of. But go ahead with your premise.

Be honest, is there anything he could say that would compel you to start a thread to praise and respect this man as a coach? Don't lie either.

I'm not surprised. Les just doesn't get it. I'm indifferent to it now.

The fact that the offense went in the crapper when a blocking tight end and a walk on fullback were injured is precisely the problem.

Same as the QB bullshite of the last 10 years--recruit to a pro style power-I offense if that's what you run. Don't have recruiting classes with 10 WRs if only two see the field 75% of the time.

this is not a slight at JD Moore in the least. But my goodness, has a team bemoaned the loss of a fullback more than we have since the early 50's?

We need more fullbacks and tight ends on scholarship. We only have about 9 of them so when we lose the starter we are only left with 7 or so scholarship fullbacks and tight ends.

Because he is the Head Coach and public face of the organization and doesn't have the latitude to whine and cry and bash his team/organization every time the whim suites him like some fricking crybaby poster on Tigerdroppings.

Would you ever tell everyone how crappy your life is? Or do you sugar coat it to make it seem better?

I'm taking you as a glass is half empty kind of a fella.

It's coach speak. You'll never get to hear what Miles really thinks.

He's saying the things that he thinks are in the best interest of his team to say.
