What about his defense? I'm genuinely curious how he is perceived.

Let him win a few more before you continue.

I'd bet my life that the same people making these threads are the same people that give Lebron ZERO love.
You're dead.

Steph Curry is like that hot new pornstar that hasn't done anal on camera yet. He will probably do anal soon, but let's not crown him as the best until he does.

not yet, but he could be
He needs to keep this up for a while
remember he is currently averaging 8 points higher than his career average.

The league is watered down. The Warriors whole system is predicated upon the lack of great post players.

Well, this gets into a whole chicken or egg thing where one person can say the sport isn't as good as the past because there aren't dominant bigs. Others say your traditional big doesn't really fit in today's game (and, if you see one, they're Dirk Nowitzki). SFP will probably see this thread and make the point better than I can.

My only counter to the longevity argument is that he was a record setting player in college and was 2 points away from a National Championship Game at Davidson. That was definitely all him.
He may be one of the greatest shooters we've seen. But I agree there needs to be a few more seasons to add to the mystique.

No....and MJ and Lebron say hi as well.
I love Steph, though. Amazing player, Fun as hell to watch. just needs to keep it up.

People will make some stupid arguments in here. "Best basketball player" means the one who was most awesome at it while he was doing it. "Best career" means had the best body of work for the longest time (with length not even being the most important)
When people argue about who was the most beautiful actress ever and people being up Natalie Wood, they don't go, "she died too young."
Best = could do it the best

Yes sample size doesn't do anything in the Natalie Wood example. You know she isn't just hitting a hot streak or playing in a very favorable system that inflates how amazing she is relative to other elites. Lebron has pretty clearly shown that, as a variable, he will make any team an immediate title contender. Curry has shown that he can put up great numbers and win games with what is already likely the best supporting cast in basketball.

he can't be the best at 6'3"... Bron defends all 5 positions and can score in more ways
but 2 or 3 more titles and Curry will be there

I might have missed a few championships but I think he only has 1.
