It may be time to move on but Les Miles was the head coach during an incredible era for LSU football. Can we get one more speedy thread on everything he accomplished? I know nothing is official but a big thank you to Les for everything you did for us as fans and for our university. I have nothing but respect for Les as a person and coach. He maintained a great program for a long time and will be remembered by me well.
Thanks for giving me four incredible years at LSU from 2009-2013. They were incredible and I will never forget them.
Edit: the more I think about this the sadder I get. I love Les. I love his quirks, his personality, and his sense of humor. It will be sad for him to be gone.
Thank you Les Miles
Favorite moment: 2007 against Florida. Was absolutely amazing and was the day Baton Rouge was his.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't know if anyone could have taken that job in 2005 and done what he has done. Most would have been fired after 3 seasons.
Think about what he stepped into:
1. The loss of the coach that put us on the map. Who was well loved by the fans and in the eyes of many, couldn't be replaced.
2. Took over in the wake of Katrina. The school was turned into a make shift medical triage unit. and he kept the team and fans together.
3. Had to play his first game, a home game, on the road due to #2. Won it in dramatic fashion.
They say you never want to be the man who replaces a legend. Well he did, and he did a damn strong job of it.
I will always appreciate what Les did for this university. Not only the stuff I already mentioned, but lets not forget he passed on his dream job twice because he loved LSU.

This. Les is and always has been a class act. What a legend. I'm surprised he's not being given another year but if the rumors are true, I'll throw my 2 cents in and say that the Les Miles era was a hell of a ride and I appreciate the dude for what he did for the program and for how he carried himself. Long live Les Miles.

I second this. I will probably never attend a better football game.

The "Lesticles" era of LSU football, from 2005 - 2008... those teams were incredibly fun to watch.
