This sounds great. I'm a big fan of Parish, but right now I see no reason to get Envie over Commotion (not a knock on Envie, Commotion is just really really good). Hopefully, this changes that.

Never had an infected bottle of Envie. It's bottle conditioned like all Parish beers, so if it's uber foamy it's not infected. Probably just didn't condition long enough or too much priming sugar not sure.

Didn't they admit there was an infected batch?
Eta: I didn't have that batch but I remember posters I trust saying it had funk to it, more than just carb. Also, I remember Chris telling me Imperial Reserve was infected. I kinda expect carb issues from some Parish beers, but not off flavors.

I had a few batches of envie that were infected (funky saison taste). Also had a few batches of Canebrake that were like that too. Every time you would take a sip of it, it would foam out of the bottle. This was about a year ago.

Probably too young. I like to lay em down. Get a little age on em.

Can one of you beer lovers send me some of that new batch up to NYC? Along with a few Grand Reserves. Thanks

Glad they are changing something up, I'm honestly not a huge fan of their flagships. As much as I like Dr. Hoptagon, Ghost, and the Neopolitan Stout I think Great Raft and NOLA have them beat on widely available beers.

I saw that post yesterday. Very happy about this. I never really sought out Envie. Now Commotion, that's pretty much a go to at the house. I found Envie to be very very tame for a pale ale. Smooth mouthfeel and just enough hops to know they were there, but that's about it.
Granted, i'm a bit of a hop head, so i don't search out pale ale's in general. That being said, the new Envie and now commotion should have some dedicated fridge space.
Glad i can regularly contribute to Parish now, instead of waiting on ghost to come out.

Irish Channel and NOLA Brown alone are better than Envie, South Coast, or Canebrake.

Interesting! Aging a pale ale. We have some on here worrying about getting fresh bottles and others saying you need to possibly age them. Nothing like consistency from a brewer!

Yep,couldn't tell you the last time I had an Envie.
I've been picking up Commotion and Gameday because they're fresh and in cans...
I'll give this new batch a try but unless it knocks my socks off I'll probably go back to the other two.

Gameday? Yack.
I wish Andrew would can.

for me that's one more than the parish standard line (canebrake, south coast, envie).
When you add the fact that Commotion is in cans not bottles, I almost never buy Envie.

The new Commotion is a game changer. I think it's the best beer in the state. The other GR flagships are terrible. I'd rather drink Jackomo over them.
They should rename Commotion to Commotion in the Machine.
