Les Miles "hands on OC" ....lets close this topic

I keep hearing that Les Miles strangles this offense. Where is the proof. Who is in the know? What if it really is just Cameron?
If you look at Crowton and Cam we ran different styles. We ran spread the year we won the natty in 2007.
So while I am frustrated I wonder where the proof is to state that Les Miles strangles this offense. If anything from he look of things (tv, radio, etc) it seems totally opposite, Les is waaaaaay too hands off and covers for his asst.
So again, how do y'all know it's Les and not Cam?

I think its pretty obvious that Les has an offensive philosophy and holds his OCs to that philosophy, but then again, what HC doesn't do this?

It's Miles' Philosophy..he might as well just call the plays. After Crowton it's become a puppet position.

which reality is easier for you to accept.....
1. This is the Les Miles offense.
2. Miles is incapable of hiring an OC worth a shite.
is either answer good?

We ran some spread formations. I wouldn't call our offense a spread offense in 2007.
Hell, we've ran spread formations the past few years too
It really isn't about the overall formations or styles either. It is more about playing it safe and not taking any chances with quick routes over the middle after 2008. We saw a glimpse of it on the drive before halftime and it was beautiful

I do believe that he has his hands in the offense and dictates pace of play as well of some other major strategic factors. He tells Cam his agenda and Cam rolls with it.
ETA: we tried to run a lot of spread type formations Saturday.

How many OCs have we had under Miles?
Youre a bit early for this, pumper excuse schedule doesn't have this one set for release until Tuesday.

You probably shouldn't be the one to be "closing topics." No offense.

Les Miles lets his quarterbacks make the throws when he trusts his quarterback to make the throws and hamstrings them when he doesn't so they don't make a stupid mistake.
That's the reason that the Russell/Flynn/Mett offenses look so different from the Jefferson/Lee/Jennings offenses.

I had a grad assistant tell me this a few years ago.
He was speaking specifically about the final drive of the 2012 Alabama game (regular season, not NC).

I know when Cameron first got here one of the things he wanted to remove from the offense was the toss
His philosophy is that it didn't help set up play action
If you're tossing the ball to the back and then going play action with the hand off then who are you really fooling?
Yet despite this philosophical statement from Cam it's still a staple in the offense. Miles may not be calling plays but he has his hands on the offense in some capacity.

We had to rotate fullbacks so we didn't wear them out in 2007.
We didn't run "spread".
This is the same offense since Leslie has been here. If you take off those purple glasses, you might be able to see better.

Last year I did a show for the troops at Fort Polk, Louisiana. And it was a lot of fun. But you didn't have to be in the military to be at this show. There were civilians there too. And I was talking about the base, and I mentioned because I toured it that day and had just learned this, that there were forty thousand men stationed there. And this really well-dressed drunk woman hollers out, "Every one of them is a bad frick." I was like, boy, you know, it seems like after thirty-nine thousand times you'd start to think, "Maybe it's me. Maybe I need to read a book."- Ron White

1. people refuse to believe we ran a different offense under Crowton and Jimbo.
2. People always forget how bad our OC situation was when we hired Kragthrope and he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Stud was a spread coach trying to call pro style plays.
3. People forget that sometimes offenses look terrible. That hold especially true for spread teams.

if you look at the stats of Les miles OC at Okie State and then look at the stats now...you would def agree he has his hands all up in the koolaid

We've been running the same plays for 7 years

Actually, this is proof you have not watched LSU since Les Miles came into power. I'm sorry that you can't accept common knowledge, but its pretty damn obvious.
Hanagriff has said it, other coaches have alluded to it, there was an article on Mike Gundy and Josh Henson at Ok. St. where they specifically talked about how they would express their desires to run a spread play, but Miles wanted the two TE's and FB. I have posted this article MULTIPLE times on here. Im disappointed no one reads it, and would rather make shite up.
Here's your sign
quote:
“We had a lot of discussions of what he and I thought would be productive some day in college football that would go on deaf ears with Les because it didn’t involve two tight ends and a fullback,” Gundy said, chuckling. “We joke about that now.
