The jury is still out what Parish will do with whatever GITM they don't sell on GRD. My bet is that they'll sell it out of the brewery on the Monday afterwards. Good Luck!

Hopefully they have some left at the brewery on the Monday so I can get my customary (2) 4 packs like i have the last 3 batches.

Just to clear this up, that $40 doesn't JUST get you the opportunity to buy first. You also get to try an array of brewdogs:

-Commemorative snifter glass
-10 pours out of the following available draft beers:
10oz flagship pours:
Canebrake
Envie
Southcoast
Farmhouse IPA

5oz Specialty pours:

Vintage'12-15 Grand Reserve
'15 Imperial Reserve
Ghost in the Machine
Dr. Hoptagon
'14 Grand Reserve aged in Four Roses Bourbon Barrels
Neapolitan Stout
Strawberry Canebrake
BrainCake
Other Specialty kegs and/or casks

Oh i know. I saw the list and almost bought a ticket. But for me, i'd be going there to purchase the beer, not to taste the beer i'm there to purchase.

It's just not something, at least at this time, I care to be part of the process for me personally being able to buy some. I also don't drive from store to store across cities looking for specific beers or storing up in them, nor do I stand outside of Specs at 8am like Black Friday waiting for the doors to open. While I love craft beers, I am lazy in my pursuit efforts.

Same here.

Grand Reserve Day was a good time last year, but I just can't swing it this time. An hour drive, $80 for 2 tickets, $200+ in beer.. and then figuring out the hotel/Uber/cab/DD situation.. I'd probably have to pay someone to DD for me if I wanted to come home, in which case I may as well spend the same money on a hotel..

At the end, you're looking at quite a few hundred dollars for something in Broussard, Louisiana on beer that my beer friends will probably bring around anyway.

It is a GREAT time. But I am not as lucky as most of the beer guys who have sober wives.

I remember the day I was able to grab a growler of Ghost from the brewery for $6. I think that was batch one or two. Then they got smart and realized what they had.

Any chance kegs of the upcoming batch are going to be sent to BR, or is it just bottles this go around? I'll be in town for Thanksgiving and wouldn't mind chasing a keg down for a pour.

At some point, though, they have to go big or go home.

Why?

Because nothing in life is static. What if Great Raft puts out a comparable or better IPA? Will people pay $40 just for the right to drink GOAT in the Machine? Negative. They'll go to their local Rouses and grab that GR IPA, and Parish would have missed their window and left a ton of money on the table.

They can keep doing what they are doing...and the most likely outcome will be to eventually die on the vine(metaphorically speaking)...or they can ramp production through the roof and potentially be one of the next big/great IPAs...at which point they are almost bullet proof.

Just my .02

Nobody is doing that now

So you dont think parish would make more if they could? Ignorance is bliss i guess. You might wanna do a little research on hop contracts.

Never considered the hop contract angle but you're probably right. Each batch of GITM has been different from the last, so yeah, they have probably been tweaking the recipe to know how much hops to contract out in 2016. Would also make sense that they would announce going to a monthly GITM schedule in 2016 once they knew that they'd have the hops to do it.

No one is doing that now. It's GRAND RESERVE DAY, not GITM DAY. The Ghost is just a bonus.

Should be looking at 2017 and 2018 already.

According to most of the "mavens" an IPA isn't much good after about 2 weeks.

That's stretching it. I've had IPAs as old as 17 days old (and I drank them at the end of the day, no less), and they still tasted decent.

With all the hype over GitM, how much do you think this has affected craft beer in LA? It seems like every week someone comes on this board asking about GitM, having never tried it.

What I'm trying to ask, is do you think the hype for these local breweries is converting people to craft beers? What has GR done for craft beer drinking in Shreveport? I would think that more than a few people have heard the hype and tried it out and LIKED it.
