What I'm trying to ask, is do you think the hype for these local breweries is converting people to craft beers? What has GR done for craft beer drinking in Shreveport? I would think that more than a few people have heard the hype and tried it out and LIKED it.

I think it's differs city to city. In New Orleans what has contributed to the popularity of craft beer is the new breweries and tap rooms opening. Breweries are now the cool place to be seen and not all these people like DIPAs.

I have done a bunch of events and samplings in the market since I have been with GR. Everytime I do one I have people of all ages (legal of course ) tell me that Great Raft has introduced them to a whole new world of beer. These are also people that only tried the product because they heard it was local.

I drove out to Broussard and got it last time. I enjoyed it, and will try to grab it when it comes out, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Exactly. It's like asking which came first, the chicken or the egg? Are breweries successful because they are filling a demand, or is the demand a product of the local brewery.

I'm sure that many of the people that discovered craft beer because of GR will also venture out and try other beers, as well, and many will start to pester their local bottle shops to carry more and fresher beers...

Much easier this time since you pre-purchase all that you wanted.....

That's stretching it. I've had IPAs as old as 17 days old (and I drank them at the end of the day, no less), and they still tasted decent.

oh lord I'm gonna get beer poisoning or something.

Oh so they won't be selling it to the public, it's a tickets thing?

when you bought tickets online you could also pre-order what you wanted...

Up to a case of Ghost
6 bottles of Grand Reserve
3 Bottles of Imperial Reserve
1 Bottle of the Grand Reserve aged in a 4 Rose Barrel

Not sure what will be for sell on the day of the event though, I have not seen anything but maybe someone with more inside knowledge would know.

To sum things up, those who are going to this SOLD OUT event, as well as the brewery which has boatloads of prepaid cash, are all tickled to death. Everyone else's butt hurts, for various reasons.

I had 2 different Creature Comforts offerings last night (Athens, GA)-Pale Ales.

I got to thinking that I should have tried their American Amber just to see.

I know that hops is what drives the craft industry, but I would think that if a craft brewery could make a really good lager/amber converts would be made.

Heck I'd love to find a really good lager.

Face it, hoppy and/or dark are acquired tastes for most people.

I know for a fact that Alexanders still has a case in the back for some reason?

That beer needed to be drank 2 months ago. Not quite sure why they are holding on to it.

I think there will be some leftover after Grand Reserve day. From what I gathered when I talked to Andrew over the weekend. Only available at the brewery though

As a manager at production facility, I'd love that kind of cash flow where I have the money before delivering the product. None of this 30 or 90 day crap or "pay you when we get paid" thing. Guess that's the difference between a luxury item and a necessary building item.

I had one last night and it had definitely taken a turn south. the fact that it took 3 months for hops to fade is pretty impressive.

Yep I will be there. Sorry about that. Rough times at the homestead. All 5 of us taking turns getting sick and going to the doctor. Things are looking up though. Thank God.

I found a Lone bottle tucked in another beer pack. I was scared to drink it for fear of dying the slow old hop death. But I'm glad to see you survived. I may take the plunge.
