Shame

Where are all the drunk driving apologists at? There was a thread about DUI on this board recently and lots of people were downplaying driving drunk as no big deal and downvoting those who said it is a big deal.

What?

Drunk drivers are no better than mass shooters.

Nobody said she was drunk. DUI doesn't have to mean alcohol. It was like 10am when it happened, she may have been tweaking or something.

After a sixty hour work week, I stopped and grabbed a 16 ounce cold one. I sipped on it while on the drive home. Should I get a DUI?

They don't like to hear it, because many of them drive under the influence and are okay with it..

It is what it is.. To me though, it's something that never had to be. Never should be.

I have no idea if its alcohol or meth or some other drugs, but I will guess alcohol. Just a guess though.

I cannot imagine losing someone due to a drunken driver.

Car control

It's too easy for people to get cars now.

Ban cars.

If anyone condones any driving after drinking, they are fricking retarded and should be repeatedly kicked in the nuts. I don't care how many times you've made it home after drinking. If you do it, you're a fricking tool bag who shouldn't reproduce.

DWI=driving while intoxicated

DUI=driving under the influence

A drunk person, most likely, would not drive through the barracades and kill ppl at 10am.

DWI. Deal with it.

Damn, all those times I've had a drink at a restaurant and drove home; thank god I never got unlucky and drove through a barricade at a crowded parade and ran over multiple people.

I don't recall anyone promoting drunk driving, I do recall a discussion on whether the legal consequences of low levels of alcohol in your blood stream are in tune with the risk to society.

The individual who killed three people today should be punished to the full extent of the law. That being said, ramming into a crowd of people isn't something that people are likely to do on 2-3 beers, there's either a lot more alcohol involved or some other influence.

"Drunk" Driving isn't a big deal for most people. I have driven home many times after a few drinks and never came close to running red lights/speeding/what have you...much less kill/injure people

This person obviously has a severe drinking problem if they are wasted enough to kill people...especially this early in the morning.

sorry not sorry

This thread has focused on drunk driving but a DUI could mean anything as others have said. When they pulled her blood and charged her with DUI it could be alcohol, something her doctor ordered like pain pills or anti-anxiety meds. Could be weed. A DUI leaves everything on the table until the toxicology is released.
