Just returned after a year living abroad, and let me tell you fatties are an epidemic in Louisiana.
The number of morbidly obese people I see in every place I have conducted business is astonishing; I never noticed it before.
Think of the long term effects this has on our healthcare and insurance industry, not to mention quality of life for these heaving, sweaty fat bodies. How can you guys have an enjoyable sex or personal life?
Put the fork down, fatties.

honestly it's one of the first things I noticed after moving to Boston. The south has an astonishing number of fat people.

America is the land where poor people are the fattest people
its really odd

It is the whole South. The SEC dominates in more than football.

Then why don't you stay away forever? You don't have to see them and we don't have to read your shitty threads about it.
Win-win.
Win-win.

Sorry we're not all anorexic stick figures, nothing wrong with a little meat on the bones.
BTW how many calories do you burn from judging people? Seems like it must be a lot.

I eat like an a-hole, drink dark beer almost daily and don't exercise. I'm somehow only 15-20 lbs over weight. That leads me to believe that really fat people have to go out of their way to get so big. I don't get it.

I wonder what the stats say about the levels of satisfaction and happiness in fat people vs skinny people. Seems like the skinny ones are always pointing the finger and bitching.

It's not just south Louisiana, but anywhere where A/C is necessary most of the year.

- Generally suburban: Limited access for walking/biking, Minimal public transit
- Long-hot summers
- Lack of emphasis on physical activity in schools
- Poor diet/health choices

Live big, die big, be buried in a big coffin

America as a whole is horrible with exceptions for major cities and upscale / educated areas.
I feel like the biggest divide in classy Americans and trashy Americans is this:
Are you more likely to shop for groceries at Super Wal Mart or at Whole Foods (or an equivalent)?
People who shop at Super Wal Mart will have poorer nutrition, less education, less money, and will be fat
People who shop at Whole Foods (or an equivalent) will be healthier, more educated, more wealthy, and more active/athletic.
