Travelling Wilburys vs Highwaymen vs NWA?
Although I know NWA sort of made its members.
TW: George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, that guy from ELO
HM: Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson
NWA: Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, the 2 other guys

ELO-i've grown to appreciate Jeff Lynn more over time. The guy has had his hand in a lot of well known music as a producer as well as an amazing musician, he's sometimes referred to as the fifth beatle

wilburys, this is a no-brainer

My definition of supergroup would require that the members have some notoriety/respect/street cred as an artist or member of another band prior to joining the supergroup. For this reason, NWA gots to go.
In no particular order:
Traveling Willburys
Highwaymen
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Cream

TW gets my vote, but the GOAT supergroup is Temple of the Dog.

This. TW out of the 3 mentioned. Temple of the Dog was pretty awesome though.

Wilburys hands down.
And shame on you for not knowing who Jeff Lynne is.

Golden Smog. Better than any listed so far.

NWA isn't a supergroup. Though two of its members would go on to awesome solo careers, this was their first group. Besides, the best hip hop supergroup is Black Star (Talib Kweli and Mos Def).
Derek and the Dominoes is sort of the go-to supergroup, just because of Allman and Clapton. OK, they had one album, but it's pretty great.
Given my musical tastes, for me its easy, the New Pornographers. Outside of Neko Case, its the best thing any of the members have done, and the "indie rock supergroup" sort of makes fun of the concept while at the same time gives great talents for AC Newman to write for.

Look who's angling for hipster cred.

This. The New Pornographers, at least their early work, far exceeded any of the individual member bands stuff. even neko case.

Myles Kennedy's band with Slash is pretty impressive. Slash, Satriani, and Kennedy is a heck of a lineup.
Velvet Revolver is another solid choice.
Audioslave with Tom Morello and Chris Cornell is pretty legit.
Travelling Willburys is probably the GOAT, though.
